    • Hi All,

Figured I would finally introduce myself since I've been a member on here for over a year now. I purchased a used 1999 8x8 response with 90 hours on it Jan of 2012 pretty much strictly for ice fishing. It's been working out great so far after I figured out the little throttle linkage issue but no problems otherwise. Planning on building a top for it this summer and also a set of new tracks made from snowmobile tracks over the summer. Also planning on ordering a set of track turners as soon as the ice is off the lakes and the summer maintenance is done just to make sure I don't need any other parts.

Just like to say thanks to everyone on this forum pretty much everything is covered which is why I never posted anything until now.

      Thanks

      Matt

        • Just found this and thinking about purchasing a used argo. Looks like alot of fun. Found an 80 model 8x8, looks to be in good condition and runs well, no leaks or cracks, good tires. He is asking $3000, is that a good price. Any advice, knowlegde or any other hints to look at when i see the unit are much appreciated
          Thanks,

          Mike

          • Hi Mike, welcome to the forum. Try starting a thread in the ebay, craigslist and more forum for questions on an ATV that you are looking at. Photos will help out a lot. Good luck with your purchase.

Get the 23HP Briggs Vanguard with a 1" keyed shaft and it'll bolt right in and give you LOTS of power. Sell the 14HP Vanguard to help offset the cost of the 23HP engine and you're set. Here's a link:

                      • Hi Rob, welcome to the forums. It's good to have you here. For the Argo transmission whining, that seems to be a common issue with some of the lower geared transmissions. There's really not a whole lot that you can do for it.

                        • howdy gang

i am a proud owner of a maxx IV. i have wanted a 6X6 for about 30 years and i got it. there is only one thing that is bad about finally getting one and he is two and wakes me at 630 and says "papa ride new toy" and i reply where is your helmet then he smiles lifts it up looks me in my half closed eyes and says i am ready, so he pulls me out of bed brings me my boots then says lets go. and i have to explain i need a uniform on before we can go he nods his head and says nope you got pajamas on LETS GO!!! so with that being said i guess i was wrong there aint no bad things bad about our 6X6.

i am wanting to find a group to go play with or maybe a club in the Oklahoma city area.

                          thanks Harvey
