    • Hi Mark,
      Welcome to the site.
For advise on your problem, start a new thread in the Max section. Give specific details, and pictures help too. I'm sure your problem is that the bolt holes have gotten enlarged, and there are several ways to fix that including the upgrade to splined axles.
Here is a link to an explanation of "body bound bolts" http://www.6x6world.com/forums/attex....html#post1079

          Welcome :-)
You're not all that far from me, and are running similar machines. My Conquests are 2004 and 1998ish.

What are the chances that you know a guy that calls himself " Bush Pig" on Youtube?

          Cheers

          • Hi there all, my name is Ian from Greymouth, West Coast in the South Island of New Zealand. I don't currently own a AATV, but used to drive various Argo 8x8s for a local Adventure Tourism operation in rolling rainforest, so got to find out capabilities and limitations of Argo Conquest and Avenger models. I was also involved in maintaining these vehicles and observed that some of the greasing ports wre very awkward to get at. We also guided clients on Quad & Buggy tours and got to know their limitations too.

                      • Hello everyone! I just bought my first 6x6, a 70's vintage Scrambler which "needs work" Ha! I got it for a pretty good low price. I am a geologist who has been doing fieldwork collecting rock outcrops along a river, to study the fossils in them, but slogging along the tree covered riverbanks, or wading through knee-deep water upstream for miles, or even canoeing for miles upriver, has worn me out. After getting a ride from a farmer's teenage son on his 4x4 ATV up a river bed in about 6-12 inches of water, we got to a pool that stopped us from going further. I thought there must be some kind of vehicle that could go through water and land, and a quick search showed me the world of 6x6 amphibious ATVs. Wow! So, now I have one that a mechanic friend is fixing up for me, so I can do research, BUT I also plan to have fun with this thing with my family as well.

SOOooo, I did see an earlier post asking if anyone had a Wiring diagram for a Scrambler, and it looked like there were some responses. I downloaded the 2 Scrambler manuals that are available form 6x6world, which coverall the mechanical parts. I think this Scrambler is a nearly 70's model, not late 70's model, but I dont know if that matters for the wiring.

Finally, I am in Texas, and form web searching, it seems that Texas is mostly a 4x4 world. I got my 6x6 from dpwn in the valley, and everyone who has seen it wants to see it in action when we get it running. I may be the first person in my city/region to have a 6x6.

OK, that is a big intro, and will leave it at that! Love watching all of you on youtube going through and over and in every kind of terrain one can imagine.

                        Cheers,

                        Fjord.

                            • Hi, my boyfriend and I just bought an Argo and we are trying to figure out where the vin number is and which Argo we have. It didn't have a motor so we went out and bought a Honda motor for it this weekend.... We have our work cut out for us but that's what we like! Where's the best place for getting parts? If anyone can help we'd sure appreciate it!
                              Thanks,
                              Deb

                              • Congrats on your purchase and welcome, if you post a location and a picture or two someone here will help you. As far as the vin # the 70's and early 80's machines had it on the firewall near the shifter on right being a small aluminum tag, later machines are riveted to the dash board on either the left or right side about the size of a business card.
