Welcome to the site! We all sincerely appreciate what you for us at Pine Lake. There will be plenty of machines that you can try out there, so make sure you try out some machines and get a feel for what you like and before you know it, you'll be an AATV owner.

    • Hi Guys, Tom from Missouri here. I am looking to get my first 6x6, either an Argo or a Max II this Summer. I will mainly use if for deer hunting-hauling treestands into the woods and hopefully a deer out of the woods.

          • Welcome twright,

It sounds like you have a Max of some sorts. They are notorious for jumping off trailers when started, driving away by themselves when left in forward, and driving like a 1970's at home gym. All this is because of a couple of springs attached to the bottom of the sticks. Remove the springs and take them to a good scrap yard to prevent anyone else from attempting to drive with them. This will solve 90% of your problem. You probably should turn your idle down a hair as well, but it will be far less noticeable when your springs are removed.

            • Big hello from Slave Lake, Alberta . Watched the site for a while, lots of good info, I have a '12 750hdi 8x8 with tracks.. I was on a quad rally from hell yesterday... I was towin side by sides an quads for 11 1/2 hrs... And still we only completed 1/4 of the course.... Ohhh the carnage... Saw more broken axles, tie rods, rims and studs , and belts than I'd ever imagine... Pretty extreme conditions... Long story short is.... I want to build a higher mount rear winch bumper.. (way better for rescue towing)... I saw pics of a real nice setup on here before, but can't find the info again... I believe it was a fella that re-built a conquest from scratch ... Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks!!

If anyone knows of any for sell on the cheap side near me please let me know. i'm a mechanic by trade so I dont care if it runs or not as long as the frame and body are in good shape.

                  • Hi Victor, welcome to the site. Try starting a new thread in the wanted forum here on the site while also keeping an eye out on Craigslist and eBay. I'm sure something will pop up near you for a good price if you are patient.

                          • I am new to this site. I grew up on the farm and used all kinds of off road equipment. That was work I liked to have fun off road and mud bogging as well. I just had dirt bikes and go karts but getting in to mud that was not as fun. I had fun with an old 5 wheeled John Deere Gator but I was limited with that as well. Now I have a 3 year old so I can't afford to hurt my self on my enduro bike. Now I have a 2002 Max iv this is truly a go anywhere family fun vehicle. Even before buying this buggy I was snooping around this site and it helped with my decision.
