      • Gotcha by Action Age Inc. South Louisiana, Cajun Country Hi, brand new to the ATV world... I have a 30yr. old Gotcha, made by Action Age Inc. actually only thing in usuable condition is the body.. I am a certified burn manager, and burn marsh under contract for the State ......I am focused on restoring this little buggie to use verse's an air boat... the cost of a boat and a driver for the length of the contract is much more than restoring this buggie.... So guys that is my horse logic when it come's to finances... However I can't seem to find what I need on line to begin restoration....... MY Question is has anyone come across the ...PATENT... for the Operation of the Gotcha.. I saw it several months ago on line and didn't think much of it then.. Need it now... I need the specs for two machanical peices so I can cast the parts.. If you happen to come across the patent for the Scrambler or Gotcha made by Action Age Inc.. "probably not the company name when patented" ..... please help me out... Or if you have a running Gotcha for cheap that may work also... but actually I can cast the parts for less... Blessings +++ Roland

        • There is a parts manual in the brochures section of the site. I too have a gotcha and am working on fixing it up. If you could let me know what parts your getting I may be interested in getting some myself and maybe we could get a discount for bulk. member fasEddie has a project gotcha as well.

BTW action age Inc was based out of Cleveland Ohio if that helps to track down the info you need.
l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!

          • Dwayne and Roland, welcome to the site.

Dwayne, as long as you perform regular maintenance on your max it should be very reliable for you. The newer machines, like you mentioned, have some great upgrades that make them more durable. Have fun with your Max.

            • I rode in a Kid when I was a teenager. I now have that same 8x8 and am planning to get it back in action. The previous owner had problems with the hydraulic drives and took them to be repaired several years ago. A tornado blew the place away and all was lost. I'm hoping to find a Kid or the parts I need. The rest of it is in good shape. Looking forward to any comments that might help my search. Thanks.

                • Hello Everyone,
My friends call me Bobber, and I joined your site about a week ago. First, thanks to Mike for his efforts getting us all together to share our knowledge to enjoy this great sport. I have a long background in the Machine Shop World, and a few years of Autobody work.
I just picked up my first 6x6, an old Attex that needs some minor work. I am in the process of stripping off a couple layers of house paint, and I have plans to replace the one-piece axles and wheels with new 4/4 lug wheels / hubs. The tires are new 22 x 11 x 8 and that were worth the deal. I have spent some time reading old posts, and they are a wealth of information. The engine is a 19-FB (I believe it is an 8hp, and a good entry level) that runs, but the carb needs to be rebuilt. The tub is in fair condition, only needing a few small repairs (and a couple modifications). I am taking pictures during the updating, and will post them a bit later. Thanks again to all for sharing your knowledge, and I look forward to meeting on the trail.
Engineers believe that - if it is not broke " it does not have enough features"!
                  Regards, Bobber

                  • Hi,

I'm John, I have a couple 6x6's, a Max II and a Karou 225. I am hoping to find someone that knows about the Karous, I can't find anything on them elsewhere. I have been into 6x6's for the past 12 years or so and I now I am getting the Karou up and running, so I was looking to see if there is anyone can give me advise.

                    • Hi Bobber and John, welcome to the site.

John, I copied your post out to a thread of its own about your Karou so we can discuss it outside of the introduction thread. jpswift1 gave us some great history behind it and I moved his post as well. Here is a link to that thread: http://www.6x6world.com/forums/other...u-6x6-atv.html

Bpbber, it sounds like you have done your homework and you are on your way to a great restoration. I look forward to seeing the pictures of your progress.

                          • Greetings, everyone! Found the site recently and have lurked while I searched about trying to round up some information on what I've got (a 1972 Attex Wild Wolf is my best guess from the FAQ and the metal gas tank). Anyway, I've taken some pictures of it where it sits and will be starting up a thread on it in the Attex section of the board.

It may take a while for me to get to and make any real progress since I'm currently working towards finishing up my 1985 RZ350 rebuild, but hopefully it won't be too terribly long once I can get it dug out of it's current hiding/storage place!

                            • Those 2 stroke RZ and RD bikes are awesome! I remember the first time I saw one take off and I couldn't believe it. I was at bike night at the Vortex in Atlanta, Georgia and I was in awe seeing that go down the road with a ring, ting, ting, brap, brap, brap sound.

Anyways, that Attex you have looks like it has lots of potential. It certainly looks to be a 1972, but it's most likely a ST/295, not a 295 Wild Wolf. The Wild Wolf has a 4 chain frame, the body curved down on the inside of the tub a little more than the ST style that was riveted flat against the lower tub. Also the 1971 & 1972 ST style Attexes didn't have the removable front nose piece between the headlights, that wasn't started until 1973.

                              • Yeah, I love the old RZ- it's a blast when it's running right. Unfortunately, the ethanol laced fuel got the best of it when it was in storage and I've been having one heck of a time getting the mess cleaned out of the carbs & tank on it to get it back on the road again.

It does look like the seam around the tub is flat all around where the two halves meet. I guess I didn't see anything about an ST295 in the ID guide, so I assumed that it had to be the WW. I'm glad that you feel it's got potential, as it sure looks pretty pitiful to me. It has always had the brown paint on it, so I have no idea how it looks underneath that... everything I've seen here indicates it was the same color yellow all over before the paint job.
