[ QUOTE=8x8cajun ] Hello everyone Iam a new member to this world, I just purchased an Argo 8 wheel Conquest. I needed something to get me to a duck blind that 4 wheelers and boats could not. I have owned 3 and 4 wheel ATV's for many years. The Argo seems to be what I needed. It is a 2002 model in real nice condition, 100 hrs but it does need tires. It has the runamucks on it and they do not pull well in the mud. I have been offered a new set of Rawhide tires with the rims for $4oo.oo I know this is cheap but they are 25 inch tires and the tires on the Conquest now are 22 in. How much clearance is needed between tires???? I think the 25's will almost touch one another.
I realy need the traction in the mud, I thought about tracks but I think I would prefer to stay with tires....I will put an outboard motor on it for the water.
Anyone out there know what to do??? [/QUOTE]
Hello 8x8cajun
Welcome to the amphibious forum . Rockdoctor also has an Argo Conquest , and I,m sure he will soon comment on your post . With the installation of the Frontier tires on his own Argo Conquest , its now just about unstoppable in the mud he says !
Three of his friends also have Argo Conquest , and after seeing how superior his Frontier tires were to their Good year Rawhide tires , they made the switch to the Frontier tires . In fact , one friend of his wanted to borrow his Frontier tires to try on his own Conquest , and liked them so well he ended up buying Rockdoctor some more Frontier tires , because after trying them he did not want to give them up .
The Frontier tires are really fast in the water too . But,, at around $120 a pop , they are not cheap by any means .
