Hello Bruce here new member . Just picked up a 2014 ARGO AVENGER 8X8 . i had a Outboard Motor Mount installed and was wondering if I should get a 20 or 25 inch shaft on my 9.9 HP Outboard ?? The long extra long shafts are hard to find used and new ones are very pricey . I plan on doing a lot of lake use down at cumberland KY. Any ideas on a top speed with this set up ? Everyone calls me Silver Fox but the Forum group can call me ROOKIE! because i am! Thank you in advance for any ideas or suggestions !

Hey everyone, my name is James I'm from the UK. I'm a mobile tech for a plant company, all things tracked intrigue me,I'm a big fan of tanks and military equipment. Argos and other aatvs are a bit scarce over hear but I love the ingenuity behind them. The steering transmissions are something I'd like to engage in more so if anyone has any information on the admirals and gen 2's that would be great. I've come across this forum alot in my research so signed up because you seem like a friendly knowledgeable bunch!! Thanks and see you in the forum's!!

Hi everyone! Brit here and I'm new to the amphibious atv world. Just purchased a 2008 Max IV with 127 hrs on machine. Have not been able to use it due to the previous owner removing the engine to use on a surface drive mud boat, who then sold it to someone else where it sat untouched, who then sold it to me. Need help with determining a decent motor size to put back in it. I intended on first putting a 28 HP air cooled Hatz 790 diesel in it that I have laying in my shop, but at almost 400 lbs, it may be a little heavy , plus the clutch size I have is 1" output shaft and the diesel is 1"7/16. I'm down here in the Southern Louisiana marsh and thinking lighter may be better (some really Bad marsh here), and that brings me to my next dilemma "Tracks". I've found a used (as in never even been used) set of Rubber tracks for a 2015 Max Buffalo truck for the asking price of $1500, and that includes: 6 new 21" tires and rims with support bar rails, bearing cages and wheel extensions. Tracks are 4 hrs away, and I've only seen pictures. Would anyone know if these tracks would even fit. The Max IV and Buffalo truck look about the same frame, but not sure,, or would I just be better off with the lighter adair tracks every ones talking about here " $3600 price quote". The original owner used this MAX IV as a floating duck blind, so I also have a set of 25" dual wheels and extensions that came with machine. Since I have yet to repower machine, not sure how duals would even work in this floating tundra type marsh. Sorry for this lengthy intro and confusion. Just looking for some" been there, done that guidance"... Thanks everyone Brit.

Hey! New to the group, been reading for a while to gather info. I'm pretty excited to pick up my 8x8; it's used and needs some work which is OK because I don't have a lot of money but I'm handy. Had my knees replaced this spring and it's really hampered my mobility, along with some other injuries I have. Was looking for a cheap ATV but the more I looked it wan't a good fit. I like to fish, hunt, and camp, so I'm really looking forward to fixing things and building some tracks.
Has anyone installed a V6 yet? lol!
Cheers, KeithTighten it until it strips, then back it off a quarter turn

You could ask this question in the engine forum.
I believe the wording meant use 30wt in premix, most stated something like that. Do not fill crankcase.
At the time of Sachs all these synthetics were not around.sigpic
My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
Joe Camel never does that.
Advice is free, it's the application that costs.
