  • Hello dear friends
I am new to this forum and very happy to reach here.
My name Mohammad from Saudi Arabia, Riyadh city, 50 years old
Let me tell my story how and why I find this forum
I am radio ham or radio amateur ( hz1md is my call sign )
It is hobby and public service
Amateur radio - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
,most of the radio ham preparing their gear and knowledge to serve community during disasters ,in fact mostly use their radio to pass some emergency calls and some information either from person on need or from /to disaster areas.
Last month we have unusual level of rain which become a muddy deserts so many cars was stuck in mud.
One of my relative was calling for help and we can not reach him for 26 hours . in fact we kept trying for more than 16 hours with many 4x4 cars but it seems impossible job.
The official rescue authorities’ (911) was able reach his location after 3 days ……too late we already have him safely.
Any way we as group of radio amateur understand well that we need special vehicle to help us to reach and move in such situations.
Searching the web seen the 8x8 atv so decided to go for it.
After looking on many links understand that this atv is so suitable for recreation and to do the hard job here.
I am on business trip to china so I look there also and visited one factory there for 8x8 but I do not feel trust his machine as he use china made engine unknown for me.
I am mechanical person doing my hard ware business with china so honestly when I saw the machine
And when see the lovely inside pictures from max atv I start loving building it myself. It is also attractive business item
Guys you have lovely hobby and I love to be one of the group
Since I am new to this matter really find it hard to compare specs and prices so I need some of your knowledge to get my way through
if you like to know about ham radio please look here

I recently purchased a 1992 Buffalo mabe by Recreative Industries. Had six flat tires and loose chains and old gas in tank. Otherwise in good shape. Been running it for about four weeks. It's a real trip. Having trouble keeping the old tires on the rims.

      • Hello hz1md,

There are 2 larger 6x6 and 8x8 machines available go to Landtamer.com or, Hydratrek.com. Both machines are designed for heavier use than Max or Argo.I own an Argo Conquest, it's GREAT for ME!! However, if you are looking for search & rescue capability, you need a heavier machine with diesel power to carry, and haul the amount of people or equiptment weight. Just my 2 cents worth.

        • mohammad and charlie, welcome to the site. For your Buffalo, you may want to look into some new wheels. Recreatives started using beadlock wheels in the late 90's I believe or Matt O. here on the site sells some beadlocks too.

If you keep what you have, you may just need to raise the pressure in your tires some to help keep them on. It will of course ride rougher and maybe not grip as much but it would perhaps keep them from breaking the bead. Maybe go up to 4 or 5 lbs in each.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

                      • Not sure on prices. Perhaps your best option is to try and see if you might become a dealer/distributor !?!

                        • Hi all. I have been a member for a little over a year and have spoken to some of you on the phone, but have only recently begun posting on the site.I ride a Hustler 950 that I recently finished restoring. You can see us in the Hustler section in Kestianjs' bumper thread;look for Mudbugs videoHi Dave I also have a Honda 350 4x4 that has been ridden maybe 3 times since the Hustler came back to life!I love the FACT that I can just drive my amphib right off into stuff that I wouldn't even dream of putting the Honda in.I would like to thank everyone for all the great ideas that I have seen on here and especially the videos.
I have a friend from work that loves all things muddy.I got him started watching the videos that you all have on youtube, and now it's just a matter of time before he has an amphib of his own!He has tons of questions so I am now trying to get him to sign up on this site.
Look in the Hustler section and I will post a rundown of my adventures in restoration soon.-GG

                          • Hello all

Hi my name Is Brian and I live in upstate New York ,Lafayette small town just south of Syracuse. I Have had several 4 wheelers and I currently have 2 street bikes and a Suzuki Samuria thats has turned into my little off road beater, but I always loved the 6 wheelers. I remember my father having one when i was about 6 or 7 years old, I think it was a early model single jug as the muffle as the muffle come out the back on the left side above the tires it was the most awesome thing I had ever seen and my dad would let me drive it. Let me tell ya when you 7 years old and behind the sticks of one of those things, the world is yours. So thank you Dad for those great memories, well fast forward about 30 years and I have a daughter of my own and want to make some memories with her. So I began my quest for an Attex this is how I ended up here to this site, and I love it! I cant wait to start talking with people who "get me and my quest" so I will open up by saying "HI all" anyone want to part with one of thoose little beauties ?
