  • Trailrider, welcome to the site. You can pry underneath the shifter. Just be sure to not damage the case or shifter when you do. I would put a block of wood on the case and use that to pry against. Alternate sides until it comes out. It shouldn't take too much pressure to get it out.

If there is anyone that has a transmision for any 6X6 that can be modified to fit who lives in the Moose Jaw Saskatchewan area (other areas also )Let me know. The Prairie Bobcat's were made by NIC-Mat industries in Edmonton Alberta (which is Closed ), Some parts were supposed to be avalible from British Indutries but have not found anything in Canada (seems to be in England ) I had all of the axles built at the local machine shop.
Hi, We have a Prairie Bobcat if you're interested. Close to Edmonton, AB

                restigouche7 ,

Yeah , thats what happened to me back in 2004. I kept reading postings about amphibious machines on Route 6x6 , and also watching every video I could find on Utube about six and eight wheelers , until I finally had to buy one for myself.

                • Attex Newbie

I just joined this site a couple days ago, very informational and the people here are great. Im new to the AATV's and recently my brother and I picked up an old Attex and we werent sure exactly what we had, so I posted some pics and info of the machine and shortly it was identified as a Tomahawk 450. Since we have been working on it we have decided that we are going to find and buy another 6x6.

Ive been riding dirtbikes and ATV's since I was about 5 years old, the Blackhills in SD has been my stomping grounds while growing up. I have been attending college in MT and just have one semester to go. Again this is one awesome website.

                    • mudbug3 and rdr thanks for the welcome...

Yep it's eating my brains alive... I've been doing you tube and keep on watching all the videos i can for now...I'm just wondering if there is a big difference between the frontier 650 and the frontier 580, the axle on the 650 is a little bigger, I wonder if it would make a big difference on the endurance of it. Anyways, I intend to do futher research before getting one...Ho yeah, by the way I'm frome Kedgwick New-Brunswick Canada. I live close to one of the most popular atlantic salmon river in the east! Great places for 6x6...

                        • Hi! Max IV-950T--???

Hi! I am interested in a Max IV model with the liquid cooled engine. I live in Eagle River, Alaska and hope to purchase my first 6x6 in the spring. Has anyone had any experience with the liquid cooled engines for the Max and would like to know the pros and cons of having the liquid cooled option. I play and work outside alot in the summer and winter.
                          Sincerely,
                          Roy

P.S. I really like the web site......

                            • Hello Roy,
I would have to admit I have never had a liquid cooled engine but would think that it would be a plus being able to have heat possible. I would think the motor would last longer too of coarse. The only negative thing I can think of would be just extra stuff to go wrong with the engine. But I have never heard of any problems so maybe ok. Im sure someone here with actual experiance will chime in. Glad you found the site and good luck.
