I installed an electric auto fuel pump in my Argo. I have it wired to the ignition and a switch. I love it. I only use it for start up and when going up steep hills. McCoy did the same thing on this Argo Bigfoot.

Getting started
Hi, Riverfox here. Iv'e always wanted an AATV ever since I saw one in a Popular Science magazine fourty years ago.(WOW). Finaly bought a 1990 Argo for the purpose of restoration. I'm thinking it would make a pretty good paintball tank. Anyway, I'm realy glad to see such a strong showing of people who love AATV's. It's gonna be a fun ride. I'll be bringing in some pics when I get the chance. Let the fun begin.... Riverfox.

Welcome to you new guys! Cody, if you will use the search function on the site and search for max vs argo you should find some threads that already cover the same question you are asking. It boils down to personal preference and the best way to figure it out for yourself is to drive each of them and see which one you like better.

Big hello from Canada eh!!!
hello, I have just purchased an older anphibious machine. I have never drove one until i got this one and i love it.I am from Ontario and have been driving other types of ATV's before but nothing that floats and can drive across swamps. My AATV is an 197? skipper. It's not in the best of shape but the 2 stroke 340 give me a thrill everytime i start it and drive it. I don't know a whole lot about these machines and i find it hard to find info. about them
, so if anyone owns one or has innfo. on them i would love to here from you.

This site is fantastic. I am a first time owner of a 6x6 (Max IV )and have been finding a wealth of information regarding getting it back in good running condition.
I have had a lot of questions but have been able to find answers to most by going through the different forums about the areas in question.
Read about you guys talking about red and green springs on a clutch. Mine has a blue spring. Any thoughts.
My hats off to you Mike as administrator.

Welcome aboard
There is a lot of Max's here and the guys know what to do to keep them up and running. Welcome to the site and hope to see you around the site. Post pictures of your machine.

Hustler Newbie
What a great site you guys have here! I can't believe I didn't find it earlier. I've had my Hustler 6x6 for about four years now. I really don't know much about the machine that I have and that has helped to lead me here. I bought it barely running and managed to tune it up fairly well. I've had the trans apart one time because of shifting issues and it has always and still does need new tires. I'm really curious what year and model it is. It has a Briggs twin 18hp, I believe T-20 trans, 26x12x12 Goodyear Terra Tires, greenish brown body. Thanks for such a great site!1984 Hustler 980 and some other toys that won't even swim.

All my friends
always ask me if I could find them one. the more I play with it the biger my interest in them gets. I look foward to speeking to others about these neat machines and would like to go to some 6X6 events.
