If your macine has a skid plate and you cut a larger hole in it and rivet the plate to the hull you should be OK

I'm with Philip.. recess it into a skid plate, or maybe you could add a ring of material to protect them. I have similar plugs from Bass Pro in my argo. I cut the finger tab off so it wouldn't get broken off. Sometimes it takes pliers to grip them. As far as sealant, doesn't matter on mine, silicone was fine. If you're filling up the hole on factory max holes, might be another story. I mounted mine on the curve of the tub to help protect them. Have to pull up on a hill to drain.

right now my plugs are really tight to put in and out. the man i bought it used from never put it in water so i am good for a while but those plugs sure do look tempting. i will defiently do it when the plugs wear out

still let me know how it works
