  • Very Cool!!

That video is great! Looks like wide open spaces.
The scene on the ice reminds me of when we were children,.. and old memories came rushing back. We had snow every Wednesday for 4 weeks. It would snow melt and snow again. The roads here were basically shut down. One of our friends had chains. Cool!!! Sometimes youth dispels common sense and safety. We would all hold onto the bumper and let the car pull/drag us for miles. This was in the early 60's, when gloves were socks wrapped with plastic bread bags and wing tip shoes made great skis. Mud, thanks for the video, it brought back great memories. Hadn't thought of this in years.

By the way a 54 chevy hood and a hill made for hours of entertainment. A few teeth were lost but all in FUN!
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

        • Ahh, I can tell ATC2K footage when I see it. I read in a forum the cam can't compress and store fast motion video at 640x480 without dropping frames and having that wavy, jiggly effect. The last time I used mine, I shot at 320x240, deinterlaced it, resized it to 640x480 and sent it as a divx to youtube. I might try 640 at 15 fps next time.

            • Hustler in action

I found this video that Mudbug hadn't posted. It shows Scotts Hustler swimming across the sabine river. For anyone considering Vampires this video will give a pretty good idea of there water speed. With a vampire you can't hammer the throttle in water but you have to slow down the speed and let the tire paddle.Scott, that honda engine sounds really good!

              • That was some pretty good terrain for learning about those new tires....the funny thing is that I got stuck in the first 2 minutes of the ride! I hit some really slick, thick clay and hit the throttle and promptly buried the Hustler. Dave and I had to get out and rock it backwards. The trick with the Vamps is to be patient and just let them paddle for you......

However; since seeing Meinfeld's video, I would like to see his rig hit a mudhole with some Vamps and see what happens???

Scott, when it comes to mud and Vampires there seems to be only two ways, slow and easy if you can stay on top of the mud, if it is really soft, the kind you sink down into you have to hit it hard, keep your vehicle moving and try to stay on top. Once you start sink or the mud builds up on your tires you are finished.

                  • mightymaxIV ,

The reason I did not post the Hustler video you are referring to , is because Utube had not finished processing the video to High Quality before I left for work ,,so I planned to post it later on , when I got home from work .
