Has any one ever made a 'skid plate' of a husler???? I am thinking of glueing a heavy ruber mat cut to fit to the front of my unit. Just to pretect it!

Hey Russh,
I made an effort at putting a skid plate on my Attex. I bought a sheet of HDPE (1/4" thick) and conformed it to the bottom of the machine by using a heat gun and lots and lots of jacks and rivets. It turned out pretty well. Check out the pictures in my gallery....
PM me if you have any questions about it. It was a pretty arduous task, but worth the effort!

nice fab and application. Was the sheet expensive?
isn't that spray on truck bed liner HDPE?
I wonder if it is, if, it could be sprayed on and stay?
That'd be neat, and easy..........I'd think.....Henry:

It is textured so it may reduce the water speed even more and reduce the vehicles ability to slide over terrain with a high centerWhy do we waste tax money on bridges and roads when we can all just drive AATVs

These sheets come up on ebay frequently, and they often have several sizes available. It's not a difficult fab job; it just takes patience. Lots and lots of holes to drill and rivets to install. They're the steel waterproof rivets from RI, so make sure your forearms are in decent shape. They will be at the end of the project, regardless. I think my skid plate is held on with about 75-80 of them.

maybe I'm wrong, it happens quite often.......
If it'd stick, it'd be a slick (*pun) deal, I'd think......Henry:

Did you put anything between the sheets? If a person had some holes (like me) in the bottome, I wonder if caulking or silicone would seal at the same time?........
Maybe I'll get a sheet and suspend my Hustler over a campfire to heat it and flip it to let it settle in......hahaha

There could be an Un-Textured type

Just in a truck you do not want things to slide around too much .Why do we waste tax money on bridges and roads when we can all just drive AATVs

yeah,
I understand the truck and traction thing. I just thought they added the texture at the gun, and, perhaps it could be not added if it was used for a skid plate.
I still wonder, though, if it would stick?Henry:
