    When I twist the faces, there's no change in the rear part that would reveal a key.

      Well, finally got the driven clutch open using some allthread and parts to compress it enough to remove the key that prevents the parts from rotating relative to each other, then rotating the halves and letting them spring back together fast enough to turn the helix.

      Below are some pics. The ramp angle of the helix is 35 degrees. Don't know if that's suitable for 4-stroke or 2-stroke. I cleaned the stationary face up with a wire wheel in an angle grinder, but there is still a lot of rust pitting. Kinda worried about belt wear unless I can clean the pitting up.

      Thoughts?

        The pitting will wear the belt out
