Sorry I didn't see this sooner. I only ended up being able to use the taper bore sprockets for the front and back axles. My theory of having enough room for all the taper bushings on the center axles didn't work out. Just couldn't get every thing to line up....not enough room. These sprockets seem ok so far on the front and back but I don't have alot of run time. My budy ended up making me stock like sprocket sets for the centers that are all welded on a common tube and bolted to axle. I wonder if splined center axles with keyed taper bore sets on the front and back would be the best compromise of economical, tough, and adaptability. I say adaptable because it would be great to be able to change ratios with a single sprocket change on those center axles and you would have room for axial adjustment to experiment with chain tensioner ideas. Yep. I think if I did it again I'd go taper bore front and back with splined center axles.

Well just for future reference if you want stock sprockets made your better off taking your chances with a machine shop or trying to do it yourself. I spent $275 with richards relics getting a center sprocket made. I have sent it back to them once already and it still is no where near fitting right. Holes dont line up, sprockets welded off center and wobble left to right kinda badly, and the tube is to big for my axle stock axle size. I think I may have whipper make me up a set for my next build.

Whipper is a great guy and fellow forum member. His actual forum name is whipper-ag, but Bridget, aka model citizen, is his lovely wife and is who usually responds for him. You can contact either person.

                suntiet,
You won't regret getting a full or partial set of Whipper's splined axles. I purchased a full set last month for my 980 Tall Hustler with 38tooth main sprockets,,,,,,,, totally night and day experience compared to my factor 32tooth pinned sprockets and axles. He uses "TOP SHELF" materials to produce his "TOP SHELF" products for our machines. I hope you will be able to enjoy a set soon!

                    hi
After using taper locks and keyway on my super swamp fox .
                    Review

Axles with only one chain ok eg front and rear

Axles with the trans chain and and at least one maybe 2 axle chains
The shared or muti chain axle suffers from all the torque being transmitted thru one key way along shaft and then being split to the front and rear axle via another keyway . The shock loads is exactly what the key way do not handle well .
If I had the situation again I would at least have the multi chain axle splined .

Just ordered a set of splinned axles from Whipper. Bigger axles, splined, hardened sprokets. New chain and bearings all around and I should be ready to leave the city behind....

Suntiet, it sounds like you are going all out with your build, I think you will be VERY happy you did the deal with Whipper. Had I not sold my 950 to finish my shop, I would have done the same thing. Good luck!

Forgot to ask, will you post pics of your parts when you get them?
