plastic tracks for the hustler

Greetings,

thanks for all who chimed in about the tranny twisting in the mounts, after the beefing up i dont think its going to be a problem. I have the sectional plastic tracks for my huslter and they seem so slippery. Has anyone put rubber or steel cleets on them? Is there clearence with the body so close on near the top of the tire?

6x6World member Tory G added some stainless steel cleats to his plastic tracks. If you put them on the outside, there shouldn't be any issues with them hitting the body.

How are your plastic tracks working out? I was thinking about trying to find some for mine. What model do you have?

I have the universal ones that Richards Relics sells. They are quite expensive. With the axel extensions and all those pins with set screws...they are a bit of work. On frozen bare ground I lost traction on a steep steep slope, the plastic didnt grip. In shallow snow they are great, but deep snow my machine still hung up. I heard they are liked for thier flexibilty in repair, however the hard plastic seems slippery to me.
