Did anybody make a folding rollbar for the max ll? Anybody specially make them? Want a rollbar for the max but want a folding one to go under downed impassable trees around here. Thanks

My '93 Max II had a stainless steel fold down roll bar. It looks somewhat well built, but the hinge part looks a little weak. I wouldn't trust it in a backwards roll so I put a factory one on. There were never any production fold down roll bars for the Max, but you could could probably make one by copying the design of the folding ROPS on a small utility tractor.

A local welding, fab, tube bending, machine shop.

Hope you have a FAT wallet. They won't like the liability of when you have it folded down and decide to barrel roll your machine. Your only hope would be to provide them with the engineering specs so they are simply making a "part" for you......instead of providing a rollbar for a MaxII

You can't get a folding roll bar anywhere. You'd have to have one made.

Thinking about getting a factory one and fabbing it up how we want.

That would be a good idea. Use the factory one as a starting point......do that and you'd be in good shape.

The plan is a factory roll bar with a tractor style visor/top on it that when folded will go over the back area and have brackets to put another seat in to bring the whole family. Anything big need to be added to put a roll bar on a max ll that never had one???

MaxII's with the factory roll bar have a heavy steel plate behind the seat back. You will need this plate also for the bar to bolt to.

That's kindof the problem with Richards......
It's my understanding that he buys from Recreatives and resells. Why not just cut out the middleman markup and buy directly from the factory?

                          Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand here it is............

NEVER deal with Richard's Relics/Route6x6. Jim is right, he just buys from Recreatives and resells it. The other parts he sells are inferior quality, his customer service is absolutely horrible, and he has burned MANY people in the 6 wheeler community. Try looking for a used roll bar or buy one from Recreatives. Amphibious Six-Wheel Drive All-Terrain Vehicles: MaxATVs - Call 1-800-255-2511
