read this thread: http://www.6x6world.com/forums/max-a...el-set-up.html It has lots of well executed ideas that apply to handlebar or steering wheel installations. The only issue I don't like by going to a handlebar or steering wheel setup is that you may not be able to fully engage the transmission. For example, going up a really steep hill may require you to push both laterals forward and even with a really strong spring I'm not sure the handlebar setup would accomplish this.
If I were you I would just go with a T handle setup like jerseybigfoot did to his Max IV: http://www.6x6world.com/forums/max-a...v-project.html

i will build something like that on my sticks.

so i can use it like the original and also like a motocyle. The gas trottle for this looks like a wishbone. this cable is from the Kawasaki rv 125 vintage.

So i dont have to cut my original sticks. on this two handle bars i will do a twist gas and the switch for Engine stop, direction lights, starter, choke and so on, like i do it on my motocycle. I drive sometimes on public roads. So i want to have a good and secure way to use any functions on my max2. In the next summer i will drive a little with my Max. In the next winter i will make disc brake on the front axle. Thee brake cylinder i will build there on the handle bar like it is on a motocycle.

I really like the ideas, one problem I am having with the sticks myself is having to hold them both back or forward at the same time to switch from forward and reverse. Especially now that I did the split shifter I almost need another set of arms. Plus the braking is another issue, that little band brake is simply not working and some of the trails here in AK are pretty dangerous when you can come to a few hundred feet drop off at the blink of an eye
