  • I really need a trailer....

Tried driving my max into the back of my 77 Ford on saturday night, got all the way in, tried to drive over the wheel wells, tires spun, kicked ramps out and backwards i went, I landed first, machine landed on me, moral of the story, dont try driving a AATV into a pickup truck.

But, the good news, I am fine (except for a fat lip), the machine is fine, and the truck is fine, but it coulda been ALOT worse...

I fell off the side of a flat deck truck with my 6x6. I was using whatever ramps I could find, which turned out to be two halves of a wooden extension ladder. And sometimes things end up maybe not so great, but still a lot better than what you'd expect when you look back.

Glad to hear you didn't get hurt.

I have this one for sale. It's a snowmobile trailer. Tilts drive on. If you don't have reverse, spin the deck 180 deg and drive off. Never seen another like it.

Has new bearings. New lights. New paint (turned out wrinkled due to cold). New treated wood.

Maybe we should rename this thread "Hindsight 20/20"
I launched my first 6 wheeler off a trailer...boy was it a hard landing. There was about a 4" lip on the trailer edge that the ramps were hooked to. The 6 wheeler had a 2 stroke, and by the time I gave it enough throttle to climb the lip.....I don't think the front 2 tires ever touched ramp. And the rears may not have either. Damn tempermental Tillotson carb
This trailer is so low, you can't fall off it. lol

I haul a max II in the pickup with a plank platform that is above the fender wells. Have small ramps for tailgate and aluminum loading ramps. Always attach the ramps to the truck!!! Friend ended up in hospital couple years ago when rank kicked out. One more word , a winch will take out the back window if you don't block the tires to stop the machine. I use a trailer for all the bigger machines. More lessons learned the $$$ way

I have a few. I'll have to check see what kind of shape there in. Been laying behind the shop for awhile.

I bought one of the 5'x9' trailers from lowes for something like $500 to $600. I really like it for this application. Pulls easy and straight. Very light weight for ease of moving around the driveway. Still has a 1600 lb load capacity and is a perfect fit for a MAX IV.
                    Thanks,
                    Gary
