Hello all! So am I the only one who thinks this is a poor design? I am now in the process of cutting my (perfectly good) front left chain sprocket off with a air grinder due to these. I want to go with something (grade 8 or better) that sticks up a bit, and has a (male) square end similar to the brass plugs that block off extra ports in the intake of old SBC's. Is there a better part then this? The hex it uses it so small that you cant put much force on it and it is recessed so you cant cut a new notch for removal in the top of it either. I mean should I put the stock ones back in with anti-siez AND HOPE that parts are not walking around on the (splined) axels, or put thread locker (or rust!) on them and have to CUT off half the parts when it is time to service them? This is one of the VERY FEW design flaws I have found on these, someone else has to have noticed/fixed this issue by now. Do these things give yall such problems too?
I would usually break out the ol' map gas and PB Blaster but I don't want to melt the tub...Thanks, Steve
