  • chain adjuster sprocket bearing replacement????

Can the bearings be replaced in the chain adjuster sprockets? It looks like that they are just pressed in. I hate to replace the whole sprocket when just the bearing is bad. If any of you guys have replaced them could you give me part numbers. 2000 Max IV.

This doesn't answer your question, but you can buy a new idler, with a new bearing for around $10 from surplus center. A new bearing won't save you a whole lot of money.

Thanks so much. Great price. For ten bucks its not worth my time to press out & in new bearings in my old sprockets. Thanks again!

Here are a couple of sources I use.

Big Bearing out of Tennessee have always been helpful and fast.
17 Tooth Steel Idler Sprocket for #50 Roller Chain

G&G MFG out of Omaha have also been outstanding, and G&G does most of RI's manufacturing needs.
