Max IV lube job issues...

My wife and I went to spray down the chains, squirt grease in the bearings, and change the engine oil this evening.
Spraying the chains was the easy part. The problems began when I could not find the inner berring zerks to the rear axle. Engine is on the way. Fishing the hand under there to feel for the zerks is more than differcult.
How do you guys find these zerks? Is there an easy way?
We also could not find the drsin bolt to the Kohler Command 25. I did find a red plastic thread protector fastened on some sort of thing I assume is a drain? This plastic cap has a FX 5 on it. What is this? Is there an easy way to drain the oil?

The red cap pulls off and exposes a barbed fitting to attach a drain hose then turn the plastic valve counterclockwise to drain the oil. The back bearing are tough to get at. Easiest with a fitting that slides on the zerk from the side. To be realistic most of the grease oozes out the flanges before it gets in the bearing itself.
