    Good info.
The goal is to match the running RPM of the torque converter to the power peak of your engine. I don't think the valve springs do too much to the power curve of the engine, but the increased compression does.
It will be nice to see the engine speed as you continue your mods.

Here are some numbers for you.

My engine driven clutch engages the belt at about 1430rpm.

Engine stall occurs at about 2300rpm. I drove up to a tree and gassed it. This seems to be the decission rpm as to whether you move or not.

My riding the trail rpm today was 2800 to 3200rpm or about 7 to 12 mph.

3500 rpm seems to be the top of the clutch range.

      Hope this helps,

After many hours and many more $$$, I finally dropped the engine into my machine last night. Hopefully I get to try it out this weekend.

I highly recommend removing the engine and cradle any time you change fluids, just to check in on the chains and bearings. I have grease bearings and adjusted the chains with the engine in the machine. Once I pulled the engine, I found to main drive sprockets that were in need of replacement. I also changed the primary chains and the inner and outer bearings. They were not toast, but why not while I'm there?

Removing the engine and cradle from the Max IV is only a 20 minute job each way. It will save you at least that much time adjusting the rear chains and greasing the bearings.
