Chain play

Just replaced both rear axles and sprockets one from recreatives and the other from 6x6parts. They are both new, how come there is so much difference in adjustment when turning axles. Are the sprockets off center assuming axles are straight. Max iv

are chains new. are bearings perfectly centered, even then it could still be off little.
are you talking chain adjustment ?

Chains are new and bearings are centered.

There were different spacings by serial number and also axle lengths, if its under 1\4 you could space axle at inner bearing with set screw sprockets or shim sprocket. I'd check the axle lengths against originals. If the outside lines up you could re groove the axle or turn sprocket on axle and relocate set screw hole for chain alignment.

Alignment is fine it's the difference in slack when rotating axles.

All I can think of is sprocket tolerances are poor.sprocket easily slid through all three bearings.

ill bet that the sprocket is not welded on center, i have heard of this happening.

For the price you pay for sprockets you would think one of the two manufacturer's could get it right.

where are you located, i have a max iv that i would sell you if your close. its not complete but has all kind of good parts. no top or tank. but otherwise complete
has the ultimate bearings and all new sprockets axles and chain and 20 hp opposed twin engine

Way up state ny by Vermont.My max has three hundred hours 27hp kaw. In excellent shape couldn't justify another even for parts.a APPRECIATE the offer.
