Is it acting like it has crud in the fuel line that might be getting sucked up against the filter?

Do you have any pics of your max? If you got a roll bar and a windshield you might be able to fab something up. As for the carb someone on here should be able to help you out. Welcome to world of 6x6. Cougar

              Welcome Tammy

Glad to have you on our site. We have several ladies with us and they drive as hard as we do. There is the place to be with you AAtV.

Hi Tammy: Like everyone is saying, fuel filter should be one of the first things to do. Also, is it the same gas in there that was in there when you bought it? It may be old, that'll cause problems too, although I would expect it to start right away. Also, you are aware that you have to add oil to the gas for a 2-stroke, correct? I am assuming that you have the 295 engine still in it. Like Amphiman said their are people here more than willing to help. (Tiny fleet EVERYONE I have met so far has been extremely helpfull, as have many who I have not yet met)

yessss i know to add oil silly - there is a rockwell engine in it it was changed - i will check the fuel line first as u all say and see if its that - it still runs well just after about hour or so wants to stall and restarts right away - thanks for all the help - once i get more familiar with this thing i would be really interested in a four person one so if any of you all know where i could get a used one keep me in mind - for this would be great for us all in our family to ride together - thanks alot

I have to ask, I did small engine repairs at one time, and you have no idea how many brand new line trimmers and chainsaws I saw smoked cause the new owner didn't "Believe" in instructions, and didn't know to add oil

                          overheating?

It almost sounds as if the engine is overheating, this could cause it to stall and not want to turn over, or stall then start again only for a minute before stalling. Could you tell us what brand of two stroke oil you are mixing into the gas, and what ratio are you mixing it. I do not own a two stroke, but I am sure someone on this site could tell you the proper fuel/oil ratio for your engine.
I don't want to go fast, I just want to go anywhere.

a couple thoughts, is the battery charging? if the rectifier is bad it won't charge, so every time you crank it, the battery will run down a little more. on the issue of how it's running... not sure how the machine is set up, but if the fuel pump is a pulse type, it might not be working. either the diaphram in the pump could be bad, or the crank seals in the engine could also be the problem. crank case pressure is what actuates the "pulse" in a pulse pump, so if the seals are bad it won't build enough pressure to pump. if you cannot locate a local dealer who has been around a long time (they haven't had 2 strokes new for quite a while) your next best bet might be to find a snowmobile shop. the engines are very similar, if not the same. good luck getting it up and running right

Good way to check to see if the Crank seals are bad is: with the engine running, spray some starting fluid around the crank seals. Try one side then the other. If the engine revs out of control. You know you have a bad crank seal. All so wouldn't be a bad idea to rebuild or replace the fuel pump and Carb, if needed. Replace fuel line, fuel filter and fuel pump vacuum line. If the fuel line or pump vacuum lines have pin holes they'll suck air. One other thing would be too clean up or replace the point.
