Definitely check the simple things first. Does this guy know anything about the Max? If not then my money is on one of Eldon's suggestions. Make sure he has the trans in neutral (the shifter under the seat) and then make sure that the parking (foot) brake is off.

it is a long way from the house. about 25 hours so I cant do any work to it until I get it here. I may see if the guy I got it from will mess with it some to see if he can free it up before I getit shipped.

How far is it from your house? Normally bearings will remain "functional" and once the chains are removed, with the tires aired up the machine will roll. If it doesn't and you can find which axle(s) are stuck then remove those tires and put them in the tub. I have moved mine with the 2 front on 1 side and only the rear on the other.

If you are lucky, you can pull chains and maybe it will roll. One of my scramblers was like that after it was sitting outside for years. The chains where so bad I just yanked on them and they broke, lol. The axle bearings seem to be ok though. They do spin now atleast.

yes this max sat for a long time.what I know about it is that it was used for the park service and then it was stored in a barn and hasnt been used in who knows how long. since I cant get there to see what may be wrong. I guess I will have to find a freight shipper that will take it on a pallet. if it would roll in the truck it would save me about 200... I am going to be broke before I get started lol...
    thanks for all the info
