i cut the chains off and it rolls the steering leavers move in and out without any issues.. how would i check the tranz to see if water has got in.. any easy way without totally terring it apart,, the guy is getting agravated with me messing around with it 300 is what hes asking ,, a motor and tranny will cost a grand or more? im kinda hooked on the 6 whellers now and wanna sell the terra tiger and get a four seater thats y im on the fence with this i race and maintain a 7.90 sec dragbike and think i could handle the restore withought having to pay laber except for some machine work if needed ,and i can even do some of that . thanx for all the help on this

Depending on what size/brand motor you put in it you can expect to pay at least $1000 if you go with a new one. A rebuilt transmission from Richard Clarke will be $1295 plus shipping, but he usually will give you something for your old one, depending on what shape it is in. You are already at $2295 + shipping on the trans and possibly on the motor also. You haven't bought it yet, for $300 I would PASS! But if you must, pull the drain plug on the tranny and see what comes out. If it is water PASS, if it is milky, which I am sure it won't be because it looks to have set long enough for the oil/water to have seperated, PASS, if it smells like gear oil PASS.
