Thats some cool pulling. Im impressed the 4 engine pulling tractor can't pull as much as the funny 6 wheely thingies thats not even design specifically for the pulls like the tractor is. Nice stuff!!!
Larry I was thinking the same thing. BUT, to be fair, it was a different venue, and being modified it was Probably a good bit more weight on the sled. NOW, that said, I'd like to see Don's Diesel Bigfoot, or HydroMike's Kubota-Gas powered Attex 8x8 compete against that. Or any Argo with a low range for that matter. I wouldn't bet on the tractor too quick, that's for sure.

FYI. I will be weighing all of the components of my MAX IV as I complete the rebuild process. I have a set of 4 scales and will make measurements of all the bare stuff and the assembled unit and report here.
As we were leaving, one of the guys running a tractor in the pull said:
"You guys did pretty good. You might have done better if you let some air out of the tires."
I told him that there were probably only 3 psi in them. He couldn't believe it.
Then he said:
"You know you got your tires on backwards??"
haha.. I had to explain to him that it helps paddle in water when they are like that.
I didn't think of that before hand.. I don't know if switching them around would have helped it do any better or not.
My Max IV was a lot heavier than I thought. I drove up on the scales, and with me in it, a full tank of gas, and a few pounds of tools, it weighed 1299lbs. Max's website said they weigh 805lbs. I'm about 155lbs, so I wonder where the rest of the weight is coming from? I have a 2500lb Warn Winch and a Roll Bar on it, but I don't think that would be enough to make up for the extra ~340lbs over what Max's specs are.
I wouldn't be questioning it, but on their site it says the gross permissible weight in water is 1305lbs. I'm almost at that with just me in it, and i'm a pretty small guy. Usually my wife and kids are in with me when we go riding, so theres another 200+lbs.
Anyone else ever weigh their machines? Maybe the scales were off...but that seems like a lot to be off by.
My cousins Max II weighed about 1170 lbs. Max's website says they are 710lbs. He weighs about 190lbs.
Don't make me do another montage of a certain green Max IV that's used to wimpy PA mud stuck in some of this nasty NC mud Mr. helicopter re-doer extraordinaire.
OOH, show the shot of when Christy broke it!!!

Have a look at pages 54 -56 in the RI Max ATV manual listed in the "manual" section of this site, it provides the uplift weights of everything from 26" Goodyear Terras to all of the different engine options.
Having done the calculations, and not wishing to remove any of the kit from my Max IV, I will be putting my dogs on a crash diet, or make them swim behind!
