Sure Bridget, we can't have you ladies getting a black eye or getting knocked out now can we.
That is why it is much safer to drive your 6x6

    Is this a trick question?

I had to think about it for a minute. We can't do both with two ball joints on top. Correct?

A family that plays together stays together

As the posts imply, at the cost of shocks and other components, I run straps.
I have them on my drag car in lieu of snubbers on the front end, I had them on my buggy. And they will be on my aatv when complete.
Pretty doesn't matter when function requires the use of an item.
Except for ladies safety apparel of course

    Have a great day all.

Hot Pink straps would be tacky but functional. My black limiting straps are cool and functional.

Impressive work, it looks factory finish! There are a lot of people who talk about making this or modifying that, but very few ever get finished. Good job Whipper!

As for the looks, I don't see how they look tacky.
    Thanks Mike, makes sense.

Tricky to explain, but if you take the tire and the shock off, you are left with the A-arms attached to the bearing carrier. And when the A-arms and the bearing carrier are still attached to each other, they really won't go any farther than about 15-20 degrees down. In my case, we are using 2 ball joints on each A-arm to attach the bearing carrier. Either way, it seems when you attach two arms to something that pivots or swings up and down they only have so much play or travel. When seting your shock up you keep the play or travel in mind and use it so your A-arms are your strap. You also save money, because you don't have to buy a strap. And technically a little more light weight if you want to talk high performance.
