I really want to do this for my winter time MaxII!
I have 18" supertracks on it, but a few inches of clearence would allow me to go with chain or angle all the way across the track sections.
That said, any advice on where to cut? I see where your new bottom is left tall on the front and rear ends, but how much overlap did you end up with there?

Because the front and rear of the tubs slope up on an angle, I found it easiest to cut it like I did. Leaving the frame in would make it even harder to do. If you look at all the pictures you will see how I had to split the new bottom section to change the angle.[IMG][/IMG]

The bigfoot is finished, and all ready for Ashtabula.......I may tweek a few things on it yet, or make a couple changes though. I thought it may be rear heavy with the big kohler back there, but I floated it today and it did very well. I just wish I could say the same for the propulsion from the supergrip superlite tires.
I also put it in a mud hole today...and had to winch out.

That is the small water hole just behind my lawn.....obviously without the water. It's so dry, there is barely any water under the wussy bridge, and the pond is down a good 3 feet.

I spoke with Jay a couple months ago when I ordered my clutches, emailed him some pictures, and a link to this thread also. He was already aware of the build, but has no interest in copying anything. I take that back, he said if I would give him the $80K for the new tub mould, he would start making them. Well, that's not gonna happen, so I guess they will all have to be custom builds.

The MaxII Bigfoot did well on it's maiden trials at Ashtabula this last weekend.
There's still a few bugs to work out, and a couple small changes I need to make (like header wrap). The thing turned out scary fast, so it will get a rollcage. It floats well and is stable in the water(not rear heavy with the big motor), the tires however do not swim well. At idle they move you along, but give it a little throttle and all movement stops.
I received lots of comments on how BIG it it.......and I had the opportunity to compare it to Don's Hustler 980IMG_1227.jpg

I'll wash the mud off and inspect the tub seam, but I am confident it held up well(zero leaks in the water).
I talked to alot of people about the epoxy I used.....

What an impressive machine you have built. She looks great in person, and I am positive that other members will be utilizing your design in future projects. Big props to you for being the first to take on this type of project!!! She looks as good in person as she does in the pics.
