I wonder if it is wrong. Oh well, it's ATV licensed now, so whatever.

I'll look at the clutch numbers since the 20HP was shoehorned in and isn't original. I have an optical boroscope with a skinny 48" long optical fiber bundle, so I'll send that in to see the numbers. It's too crammed in there to use a mirror.

In your case I would call RI and see if they have it in their records to be for sure. When I started this thread I found out that my wife's old Max II was a 2000 not a 2001 like I first thought.

I finally remembered to call RI before everyone left for the day. (They're three hours ahead of here)

A guy in the parts dept. had to "go look it up in the old book" and says it was built in 1985. So, the title is wrong. I guess nothing's new there, my 40' motorcoach powered by an industrial sized Caterpillar 3126B diesel is titled as a "gas powered" RV, but whatever.

So, the serial number of 7400 and 1985 year puts it in the list right where it belongs. I can sleep better now.

Oh yeah, I liked the guy's reaction: "The serial is seventy four hundred even?!?"

Sometimes dealers sell new machines that have been in stock for a while. Even though it could have been sold new in 2002, it's very possible it's a 1999. Does it have round headlight?

Just picked up a red maxII serial 2969 -
has the big max Kawi 440 engine it. I was frozen to the ground in a field - so I had to rescue her -
This will make my second max brought back to life

my other maxII is Tan serial # 8323
