Count me in for a Haspin ride. It's worth the 6+ hour drive.

In pure mudding terms, my current opinion is that the vehicle with the lowest exerted psi will probably perform the best. My Hustler with 25x13-9 Vamps is about 1psi of exerted ground pressure. JPSwift's 980 with 26x13.5 Vampire ASX's is approximately .76psi of exerted ground pressure. This puts him pretty close to a tracked Argo's .67psi (taken from their website).

So when predicting how the MuddOx would do, I would want to know what the exerted psi is??? Of course this is all bench racing and there is truly only one way to find out

I will guarantee that the MuddOx will need less maintenance after said mud riding though!

I think you also need to factor ground clearance and drag coefficient into your calculations. The tires aren't the only thing touching the ground in the mud. Also, the Mudd-Ox will turn in the mud to find a better line through.

Oh yeah...I did forget about drag, very important!....but that would make my calculations like calculus! I am not completely sold on ground clearance though...some of these mud holes are bottomless, so I don't know how much difference an extra inch or two would make???

Whenever we can all ride together, we'll have to test some of these theories out! One thing I have figured out for sure, is that the best thing about getting stuck in an amphib is you are only going to sink as far as your tub!

                    Hello,
Where is this Haspin? I am going to change my wheels and tires today and put the 27" ones on. I will be able to dig in the dirt even more

                            Hello All,
The fans on the mudd ox pull alot of air into the engine compartment and leaves , dust , straw, and so forth. I came up with a fix. I put velcro around the intakes and put a prefilter (free flow) over the bottom intake grate. It works great and when you are done wheeling just vac the outside and it cleans right up. Also when you run the lights or don't run the machine it pulls the battery down. I made a plug to go into the power 12 volt outlet and put a trickle charger on it . This only has to be done if you have not run it in a while and let the fans run to cool the engine compartment.I think matt will come up with a pre filter kit for both intake grates, (the lower is the one that needs it most).
I just did a ride to the gas station and had fun. everyone ask questions about it.

                                Alternator

Doesn't the Ox have an alternator on it to keep the battery charged?
