        What are MSOs?

They do come with MSO's (manufactures statement of origin) this is used to get a title in many states. some states do not have titles on atvs or boats etc but many do. this is the original statement that allows a title to be established with state authorities.

Manufacturer's Statement of Origin. That post was a zing at Matt.
They can also be used in lieu of a title, as a document of ownership, by a bank if the vehicle is financed.

regarding the alternator it is a 25 amp alt. I think if you only run the Mudd-Ox for a very short time it is acceptable to hit the cooling fan override switch on the dash to override the 7 minutes shut down time on the fan. this should help with battery drain. We have had zero problems with battery run down even in the very cold weather but we use this feature when we just run the machine in and out of the shop etc. Otherwise when we ride them it is hard to get out them as we are having so much fun and get plenty of run time to charge batteries. Starting in the cold has been great although the Kohler seems to like to be choked even after being run. The heated throttle cable is nice too.
              Enjoy

I have never, at least up to this point, had a problem with the battery running low. I would, however, agree with Mark that the Ox likes to be choked, (there has to be a joke in there somewhere). Even when it is 40 to 50 degrees outside, I find it starts much better if you use the choke lever. I usually just stand beside it, pull the parking brake to set, pull the choke out, start it, and immediately push the choke lever back in. It starts right up and runs like a champ. Then all ya gotta do is jump in and off you go.

I always let the hydraulic cooling fan run till the timed cutoff after use, but it hasn't ever caused any battery drain problems.

I'm still curious if you have had any need to let the hydraulics warm up before use up there in the cold weather, Mark. I had asked that on a previous thread, but you probably missed it. Just curious if there are any obvious performance issues with the hydraulics warm verses cold.

                  working fine now

                  Hello,
I have not had that problem sense I charged the battery all night, works fine now and I also use the cancel switch if I run it for just a min.

                    hydralics

                    Hey guys,

I got my Mudd-ox last friday, it is running great. I also choke the engine slightly on first start-up of the day. No charging problems. I have noticed that when the hydralic oil is cold that if I spin quickly that the low pressure light comes on momentarily. Matt said that the sensor was sensitive and on some machines it lights up for a couple of seconds. I'm curious, what type of temps are you seeing on the hydralic oil guage?

                    Thanks,
                    Terry

I have to admit I don't pay much attention to the hydraulic temp usually, but on the occasions that I have made a point to reference it, I haven't seen it more than a quarter of the way or so up the gauge. I can't remember exactly what temp that equates to, (220ish maybe?). I was keeping a close eye on it during and after towing a couple of times and it still didn't read to awfully high.

                        muddox oil temp

                        thanks,

It has been cold here so I was trying to find out how it would heat up in different temps. So far mine only gets to about 150 at most.

thats all mine gets to as well Terry. Its been in the 20's here in Wyoming and I've never seen it higher then 150 yet.
On another note.....Here at 5000 feet elevation the motor is running very rich with excessive black sooty exhaust. I'm having difficulty finding a jet kit but once I get it straightened out I'll be taking it to 9k and see how it performs in the deep snow.

                            Hey Travisch,

My machine has black soot in the tailpipe but seems to run ok. Matt told me that Kohler was working on efi for all their engines. Matt said that it would be about 1yr for the bigger engines. Where are you in Wy?

Terry - I'm in Pine Bluffs Wyoming. I was out at Tims loading mine when you were getting ready to take delivery of yours and drop Matt's trailer in Des Moines
