    Kevin,

Sounds like fun, you should do a search for "3 cylinder " or "home made " on this forum and see what pops up. There are a couple projects like that on here.

It's a great start. I think I'd make it a straight track machine and build in some floats in the center of the tracks to help with stability. Good luck on the build.

                That engine looks heavy!
Weight distribution will be important when you float it.
I would mount it ahead of the rear axle for sure.

Are you using the transmission/transaxle that's on the engine now? If so, looks like you could shift it towards the middle and power the center axle and chain to the outter axles thus evening out the weight distribution.

hi guys were the motor is sitting is going to be the front and i will be sitting back from the middle the reason i want the motor at the front is for climbing hills but i guess if it was in the middle it would be even as far as desending hills and floating.
The motor is a front wheel drive daihatsu charade.

i tested the position of the motor and how it would efect the way it will float i made a quick raft out of 20 liter drums so it had roughly the same surface erea on bottom it was fairly nose heavy but it will do making it float is an extra at the moment but im shore it will be done and also im it wont be used in alot in water anyway

I bet you'll be able to fit 31" tires on there! I'm thinking these Goodyear 31x15.50x15 tires would work nicely.
