I think bonding an entire skid plate may be difficult to achieve since you'd need the skidplate to fit perfectly to achieve a good bond. Here's a post by Hydromike who heat formed a skid plate using 1/4" HDPE and riveted it to the body. I'll be doing something similar but using thinner HDPE, 1/8 or 3/16, to make it form easier.
