Supacat values are according to model. The newer, the better, hence Mk3's would be the most desirable. Then a Mk2A with the 1.9 TDI engine, then the Mk2A with the 1.6, then Mk2. Mk1 are basic 6x6 with a Citroen gas engine and skid steer only.
Typically, Cats are sold as vehicle only. The (10) CF Dart Cats had a 1.9, engine, 3 speed auto trans and 24v system, and had tracks with them.
I want $15k for my 2nd Cat, and comes with a set of tracks and the framework for a softtop (it needs some repair, and arrived from the UK with broken glass)

I had asked my contact at the factory about the cost of new set of tracks, and was given the cost of $8k from the last time they had ordered from their supplier. An insane price, but other than make your own, who you going to buy from? Tracks weigh about 500lbs
I personally have never had the tracks on. The one Cat has a SE license and has seen more time on the road than anything, and the Ackerman steering makes it act like a car

BTW, a slideshow of the Cat for sale is at this thread, before I bought it and imported it.

Shame the Cats were mainly made for Sand and once on hard ground become a bone shaker and that's from the two I've driven on my mates farm
DSD277 do you fancy a FV432 or maybe a Ferret?

Bone shaker??? I doubt your friend has the correct tire pressure. 2 psi will make a BIG difference in the ride, plus running a distance to warm the tires. Typically I run 5.5 to 6 psi, and ½ psi higher in the center tires to make skid steering a bit easier…
If you run different tires than standard or fill the tires to what is on the sidewall (35psi ,iirc) you’ll be driving a bouncing rock. The max tire pressure with tracks is 20 psi. The owner manuals list different pressures for different terrains.

I have probably a 150+ hours driving a Cat on the street, and the only time it rode bad was when the tires were cold ( less than a mile of driving to warm ) or tire pressure was off. I learned fairly fast how to control porpoising from dips in the road, and drove the Cat with the Sankey w/ ¾ full water tank at 35mph+, up a grade……totally unintended, as I was just taking a pleasant drive to a parade when I looked at the speedo . and

Ferrets are too small for me and FV432 are too big and heavy and cannot be driven on the road here. With that said, I had considered a Fox and CVRT (but again can’t drive on the road, but small enough to trailer)….The Supacat met a nice middle road as I convinced the DMV it was legal for the street as Special Equipment

Yup bone shakers as I was driving them on muddy ground in and over Tank tracks and ruts and not on the road and not for a long time only from one field to another as I was not allowed to use his many 432 as they were making the tracks they were using even deeper
Maybe so but there not my vehicles I was only using them
Check out Tanksalot my mates Company

Your big boned like me I can't get in a ferret easy and I love 432 so easy to drive
Well you say that but I've seen a few 432 over there with plates on
          Have you considered a Saracen?
My mate got a Fox body and parts if you fancy restoring one lol
CVRTs I like but not driven one yet only been on top of one being driven round so can't comment if they good or not
I think you could easy get anything Pass the DMV as when I went for my 16 year old learner permit they gave me half a car test and half a bike test on the written bit so they waved me doing the second written part as they gave me the bike test lol

Not owned a Stally but I know a few that do / have. All say they're a great machine so long as you want to spend every living hour and all your life savings maintaining them

Another wonderful machine that's overly complicated, poorly designed and never developed to it's full potential. it was a money making scam from start to finish, same as the Champ, and the Gypsy, and probably a hundred more vehicles the military paid for with our money

Come on, what isn’t going to be bone jarring in tank ruts?
I had the cat in a rock garden, a friend in a Mog 1300 behind was laughing because the cat would jump up the rocks, knocking them down for a ramp for him to smoothly climb, and the cat would glide off pile like a surf board on a wave, and the Mog had heavy side sway coming off the same piles… I went through some serious teasing when I brought it to the Mogfest…none after I made a climb after a 6x6 Pinz chewed the hill up and failed the climb and several others failed afterward.

I had looked at Saracens, Saladins, and Slalwarts. I’m at the point where I want and need to thin the herd. Sell the FMTV, a Supacat, the cooking trailer and the Vampire. Keeping my Pinz (under 800miles and supposedly is only 1 of 3 UK manufactured in private hands, the other 2 in the UK and Scotland) , 1 Supacat and Flip-it trailer, and my SDP Haflinger.

Though there are states that have registered almost anything… tracked vehicles (except half tracks) are not allowed by DOT laws because of non-steerable wheels. Cal is the roughest state to meet requirements in, and people in DMV have spent a lot time to try and find a way to license my Pinz. As it is, I use special permits for shows and parades... I'm too d---- old for any new toys

Another item on a Stalwart, it is barely road legal for vehicle width here and bad for the drivetrain windup on hard surfaces... not exactly good for Los Angeles.
And lastly, Stalwart is marginally "faster" than my Supacat or Haflinger, and doubt is quicker than either...(in their specs)... but my Haffy is much faster than it's specs

How much would you be looking for your 101 as I come to CA a good few times a year and wouldn't mind driving a nice British vehicle

Are you talking about the Supacat factory in Devon? Interested to know if there are any tracks going spare in the UK.

Well, Devon’s at least their main office. My communications have been by phone and emails..

Probably the best chances for tracks would be Witham’s , or Phillip Caple at :
ATV Range - All Terrain Vehicle Solutions - Specialist in off road vehicles and spare parts

It seems tracks weren’t a common option ordered with the Cat, and does defeat having the Ackerman steering

I'm looking for $19k for the Vampire.
