Alright Drew,
Now that I got them home I need to know if its worth my time, effort, and money to fix them or if I'm better off parting them out and scrapping the rest.
Attex: Once I cut off the chains with the plasma cutter all 6 axles rolled freely and it appears that the sprockets are at 75-80% plus condition. Axles "seem" good, t-20 looks good, both shafts freely turn each way and the shifter ears moved with a fairly light tap (nudge) of a small hammer both ways. I took 9 gallons cans worth of rust, dirt, and debris out of the attex before I found the bottom (used the plasma cutter to cut the chains before I cleaned out the bottom so I didn't burn the tub). The current frame is shot, multiple places where its rusted very bad and two places where its completely rusted through. The frame is secured in place and I could take measurements from it to make a new one. Other than that the frame is useless. The motor is NOT free, although I added the normal items to help it have a chance of freeing up if it ever will. There are multiple cracks (6-7-i lost count) and 5 holes in the body of different sizes. Currently its not amphibious but considering most of the cracks and holes are down low, it makes me think its a good candidate for cutting off the entire bottom, Add 8 inches or so of depth to it and set the new chassis down in the bottom of the newly lowered tub. Gain added ground /upper body clearance for larger tires and it gets rid of all the cracks and holes and may actually float afterwards.
Kadoo: I have not done much to it so far since the other took most of the rest of yesterdays remaining daylight. The frame is complete but shows significant rust and my OCD would make me rebuild it, axles and sprockets are in the same condition. The motor IS free and I was actually able to hear compression just by turning it over by hand. I have not been able to free the disc brake from the caliper yet to see if the apex tranny turns freely or not. Body condition seems very nice. So far the fiberglass shows no signs of a soft spots, although the engine cover is fairly "weak' (primarily due to its poor design I think) not due to water damage. All 6 tires are headed to the trash can at some point.Last edited by rcn11thacr; 06-20-2015, 07:46 PM.

Actually it was much worse. It turned into my colt concoction racer. That being said, I'd use the Attex for parts and maybe use that t20 in the Kadoo. The Kadoo II used a t-20 so why not do a resto mod on that sweet looking body. Salvage and sell what you can of the parts you don't use to help offset costs.
Wedge will be getting the Kadoo so building it will not be an issue. I know the Attex is rough but im going to have to fix it for my boy. He latched on to it the moment he first got to see it (like all kids will). He is willing to put his money and his time into it so i'll take the time to teach him how. So I guess im going to have to stop focusing on my max iv and start learning a little history about the st/295. Can you make a guess as to when this attex was made? I have not found any ID plate, so I don't have a clue what the SN is. That brings up another thought: Since I need to register this to run it out in the national forrest where I live im gonna need a ID plate. Anyone have an old one laying around for a st/295 that I can use for this one?
