hi i just picked up a 70 terra tiger tt18 serial #5722 in good shape i was told it was all stock but i dont think so, they said it was orderd with a twin cyl and elec start. motor is a rotex 339.2 cc according to plate on motor.from what im seeing the sterring has been alterd, it has throttle riged on the sterring wheel. i now that was not right but did the ever have a steering wheel this does, and also to operate it its gas and go ,to steer its turning the wheel r or left but to stop yo turn wheel all the way to right or left to brake.im gonna post pics if i can any response whould be apreciated thanx in advance steve. i tried to attach pig but ther in jpeg format not url how do ya post pic also

hi amphiman1 i will take ya up on the meet and great it needs a little work not much i bought this in limestone ny right up the road from ya i need a carb kit for a rotex 340 motor and a brake caliper and two new mud buster tires and ill be up and running ill get back with ya i put some picks in the gallery havent figured ho to attach yet new on here and i cant type real good eather check it out if you get a chanceOriginally posted by Amphiman1 View PostHi, Y would u attach a pig? We sold them ( terra tigers) new and no 2 cylinder engines were optional or available in them. TT18's had JLO 295 single cylinder in them. And all had tiller - T bar for steering. No steering wheels. I would take steering wheel off and put T back on so you can have brake on left and throttle on right to control it easier. Good luck with it.Comment

what was the differance of the tt10 and the tt18 .and also i posted a few pics thats how i seen it to buy ther in the gallery .the rear lights are a screw up i take it. they would be above the water line from the factory i whould think any idie were to find a shop manual for one of these .Comment

difference. terra tiger,
there were 3 differences., AXLES, went from "pin " sprocket" to wood ruff keys,,,, body was slightly different molded...(weight distrabution). and a few other changes

Weak link steering clutches with big motors
And what most don't like is no reverse! If they would have had reverse it would have helped sales of them. Use good high quality chain and keep tension adjusted especially on front jackshaft ones! TT 18's have keyed sprockets so you don't break pins like TT 10's do when worn. They require maintenance like any other 6-8 wheeler.

first terra tiger ride
well today i went around the house about 50 times for the first time i had rebuilt the carb draind the gas and 1 pull and she was running , 340 skidoo in it i need a brake caliper for the main brake so i dident go far ,,,,,, anyways when you turn thes things how far does the shoe that around the linings sopposed to move it turns left ok but right not so good . when turning to right it looks like the shoe slides 1 inch over .and the other way it goes 1/2 inch or so the linings look atleast 1/4 inch thick anyone no the limit to when they need religned im gonna try and fix everything. and im gonna probally sell it / sorry for the book to read with all the miss spelling cheers steveComment

Shouldn't move over 3/16th inch! Thats way to much movement!Sounds like the brake pad assembly has loose or missing bolts? Make sure all 4 bolots are in it. Adjust the steering clutch brake pad clearance by Loosen all 4 bolts holding steering lever and brake pad. Set brake pad to 1/16th inch clearance between it and clutch disc. This makes unit turn. Cone clutch just drive's unit. We made a big feelers gauge about 6" long and a 1" wide for them. Make sure you set clutch levers vertical also and re adjust steering rods as needed. Tighten, securely and recheck brake clearance. Make sure its fully contacting disc also. New brakes pads are 3/8" thick. Any questions email us.Comment

I just today started a tear down of the steering/clutch/brake assembly on my Tiger today. Got one side about ready to come out. Looks like the other side needs to be removed at the same time as I have not been able to slide the shaft outward. You have to take complete shaft assembly out to disassemble them. You have to drive both bearings inward from the outside where you removed plates-covers this allows shaft to move sideways it comes out of one side and then you lift it out at angle from other side and remove from machine. Then you loosen set screws in spring tension collars to relieve tension on clutches. Then support end of shaft by clutch cones and drive pins out on them. File or sand any ruff edges of shaft before removing them. Email or call if you still need help.
