Since I now have added a Muscateer to my fleet I need to know everything I can learn about these critters & especially their mysterious "black box" transmissions as this one needs some help. So please chime in and give a newby owner any and all information you have pertaining to adjusting the linkage to relining the steering clutches. I want thank those that have shared some input already.

Ask falboa...... i did it once it was a interesting experince, i wish not to repeat.... Some rods have to adjusted in, others out

i drive mine once a week,,, any bigger motor might destruct the trans, that is my theory,,, ask falboa....... from on this sight, he has one also
seems the clutches aren't the problem, it is the actuators.... i'll bet yours slips too, i don't think it is the belt.. I talked to the owner , b 4 he sold it.....

I believe falboa has already performed a relining of his wet steering clutches. I've had enough experience with CVT propelled ATVs to know for certain the belt length and the engine spacing is incorrect. As far as the cause of slipping the actuators could easily be the culprit as it will drive; just not well. As far as a larger hp engine I would tend to agree it could not only be harmful to the transmission it could be harmful to the driver if it was not driven cautiously.

I believe falboa has already performed a relining of his wet steering clutches. why harmful to the driver? the trans is about 1/4" plate, only harm i see is a pulled muscle , or a charley horse in your foot... haha

Wow, that seems like an awful lot of thinking just to drive something slow, but hope you get it running right.

just to go for a ride? it is like a 60 minute work out..... they do move out pretty good in high.... float good too see gallery rapids ride, ask jpswift1.... if they ever sink? it would be like the titanic.... they are very HEAVY

I think you'd agree it would be ugly.

With that in mind I would not want to roll it over on top of me.
It currently does not sport a roll bar ............................................but will.

Amphiman is right.....these things are very heavy. They climb well in low range, they float very well too, and high range is decent. Just make sure everything is sealed up tight and the drain plugs are in before you float it, because if it were to go down, it would go down like a rock. Here's the shots of Amphiman and I in some small rapids with it.

Amphiman is right.....these things are very heavy. They climb well in low range, they float very well too, and high range is decent. Just make sure everything is sealed up tight and the drain plugs are in before you float it, because if it were to go down, it would go down like a rock. Here's the shots of Amphiman and I in some small rapids with it.

Check the framing bolts too...they are carriage bolts , if i rmember correctly, they are probably loose.... and grease the hubs too......

It feels like I'm driving a bulldozer with a heavy transmission and fiberglass hull. Axle housings are pretty beefy too as they bolt directly to the hull with no metal framework inside. This would be a great machine for snow removal with it's ability to power turn. Highly maneuverable!

It high centers easily, the long wheel base, short tires....

Tranny Safety

Just thinking out loud, but maybe a lockout is possible that would prevent the petal from being pressed when the stick is in forward or reverse, just some simple linkage that moves maybe a keyed plate past the petal, a tab on the foot petal's lever that will hit the plate, but pass through the notch while stick is centered, would stop accidental forward AND reverse commands. As a bonus, while the petal was down, the tab in the notch would also stop the lever from moving Forward or back. I've never seen one in person, so I don't know how easy or hard this would be, but I would expect it should be do-able, maybe?
