if you use truck bed liner make sure the prep work is 100 % it is nasty when you have chunks flaking off because the prep was half done.

Coop, I don't think it will hinder you in the water too much, but would be concerned with driving over obstacles. I thought of coating the outer of the trackster, but decided against it. One of my brothers has it in the bed of his truck, take loading concrete blocks for example, set it in, then get in and move it to the front, nothing slides on it. I can't help but believe that it would have the same effect when going over mud, limbs, logs and such. Now as for the inside of the tub, heck yes! Again, nothing slides on it- even when wet...DESTRUCTION is just a couple of vowels down the street from DISTRACTION

I got the carb all rebuilt, the engine runs alot better, idles good and has good response. Now If I could gat the brakes to work, aarrgg... I spent all day trying to get the air bled out of the brakes, so far no luck. The master cylinders are lower than the calipers, I have air trapped somewhere, can't get it out. I even hooked a vacumn line up off the engine, into a catch can and tried to suck it out. Or, I have 2 bad master cylinders, but I had a good pedal before I took the calipers off. Tomorrow's another day....

An update on the brakes...they work! Turns out, the brakes didn't have any air in them. The slots in the floor where the levers come up thru just needed to be made longer, the levers were "bottoming" in the slot, I thought I had air because I only had a small amount of brake at the end of the lever travel. I took the floor panal up, made the slots longer, now I have lots of brake and have plenty of brake travel left. I also could have adjusted the rods that come out of the master cylinders longer, but that would have put the levers closer to the dash. Tonight I'll load a vid of it tearing up the swamp...Attached Files

Hi Guys...Sorry, I didn't get a chance to shoot a vid tonight, my son had a Little League game I had forgotten about. It is supposeed to be a nice weekend, I'll make a vid showing it driving around and a vid of it in the water for the first time, sink or swim, hoping for swim...I'm going to tie it off to my truck the first time with a 50 ft rope, just in case the bilge pumps have to work and can't keep up

Ok, here is the first vid of it in the water for the first time. It floated well, leaned a little to the left, ( I guess that is "port" when in water), probably would be level if I had a passenger, but being that this was the first time I put it in the water, I couldn't find anybody who wanted to ride with me, go fiqure?....Anyway, this part of the experiment went well, hull seems to be tight, I didn't take on any water. It propells itself suprisingly well with just the tires, at least suprising to me, I've got nothing to gauge it against, I've never had a 6x6 before. After this vid, I put it back in the water and tried out the Berkley jet drive, that went well until the engine quit 200 feet from shore due to the electric fuel pump dying, I'll post that vid later as soon as I fiqure out how to edit out the 15 minutes of dead floating time trying to get it running so I could get back to the launch area.
