Polaris unveils new RZR 1000

Yes Keith I have been waiting for the video of your new Rzr. You don't have to hide it anymore, I've set the stage for you to show it off by saying, "Keep riding and loving the amphibs but don't limit yourself to one vehicle, try a Rzr at your first opportunity." That line was for you!

Rumor has it, Polaris has a single seat Rzr on the way.

It's easy to have fun at the Badlands... if your trailer is long enough!

I built my springer for trail riding, and yes that includes rocks, mud and swimming. Gearing is stock MAX 2, so there is no problem slinging mud. The engine is high performance big torque, but clutched for trail riding. Most comercial ATV trails and mud holes are wide enough for a bus especially at The ATV Parks. Just because we can go fast does not mean we will if the conditions wont allow it. If anything the suspenison will prevent bent axles and loosing a bead on a tire .
As far a vids go I completed the machine in April and had no opportunity for mudding.

No doubt this machine will dominate the market as the rest of the RZR family already has. I had a Rzr 800 last summer and Matt Oxender had his Rzr 800. They were an absolute blast at the Badlands off road park. Sure we had our amphibs there also but it's nice to switch rides from time to time. The Max was fun in the mud and bashing through trails but the Rzr brings a whole new dimension to off roading. I've been on quads and amphibs my whole life but I'm telling you guys the Rzr is like nothing else. The power, suspension, and handling is amazing. I found myself slowing down and watching out for ruts and bumps until I discovered these obsticles meant nothing to the Rzr even at high speed. I rode it 70 miles per day in the rocky mountains of Colorado without even a hint of a sore back!
Keep riding and loving the amphibs but don't limit yourself to one vehicle, try a Rzr at your first opportunity.

Brandon I just can't leave this post go. Yeah, you and Matt bring those stupid things to the Badlands ride and all I hear all the way home is why don't we get one. I swear to god if you or Matt bring a Rzr to another ride I will hook a chain to that over engineered golf cart, and drag it with my Max IV into the deepest mud hole I can find and leave you there. Or better yet I will make her ride with you so I don't have to listen to her complain about the noise or bumpy ride. No, I know, I will buy her a rzr and you two can ride around on the girlyboy trails while I have fun in the deepest mud holes in the park. Did I just say I would buy one?

River run park is a HUGE atv park with lots of ruts, dips , and pot holes scatted on the many dirt roads there. I don't like riding fast in my Argo or Max because I don't like bending axles and wearing out my axle bearing out sooner than planned for, so I like to ride really slow because I hate a jarring ride. It takes me over an hour to get to the beginning of the good mud holes because I usually drive through the swamp to get there. Why are'nt there any video's of springers in the really good mud holes with the other amphibs at Busco Beach on the big group rides? The only mud holes that I've seen the springer machines drive through are easy mud holes and not much of a challenge.

I agree with you Brandon. Good post for those forum members who are thinking about an alternative trail machine. If I didn't have so much money invested in the two amphibs that I now own, I'd strong consider an RZR just like the one that you posted about. It has'nt rained much this year in Texas, so River Run park and Mud Creek park aren't much of a challenge if you own an amphib. But, with over 100 miles of great atv trails at River Run park , it's a great place to take an RZR Razor, side by side.

I would not bet on that. The springer kit increases ground clearance and better traction,as it follows the terrain, so the mud issue it may be a plus , at worst a draw. I agree that swimming is slower but not impossible. If you want to spend your money on tracks to go well in the mud thats up to you but you gennerally loose swimming speed also. I spent money on my springer Kit to go faster more comfortably. My Bigfoot or Max 4 will be easier to clean though but nowhere as much fun.

Just curious here. Have any of you springer guys tried your machines in mud? Not that you would or I would for that matter if I owned one. Being geared for higher speeds and the wide stance might be pretty big hinderences in swamp type mudding. And any kind of speed could rip an a-arm loose I would think like the fancy IFS snowmobiles around here. I would think cleaning would be a super pain but...if there exists any video now that would be cool.

This lifted , big mud tire, custom RZR would be right behind jpswift1's Hustler Bigfoot with ASX tires in the really challenging mud holes at the High lifter Mud Nationals. These large tall tires gave it really good floatation in the thick, deep mud holes. It had no trouble driving through the bad mud holes with it's great floatation and 18" inch of ground clearance. It could drive through the same mud holes that my Argo 6x6 with Adair tracks on it drove through. Through a swamp , it swam slower though, but still good for a tire machine. It's not a machine that I would choose for myself though. Just a fun and unique machine With the large amount of ground clearance ,smooth bottom, this machine had, it could follow my tracked Argo in thick mud, but I couldn't follow him in the really challenging atv ruts. With the addition of independent suspension too, it had a lot more comfortable ride than my tracked Argo or Max IV with tires on it, and it swam about a 1.2 mph in the water too.
