My wife and I run a hot rod shop that started as a alignment shop when I bought it with a pit which is my favorite, I have been doing alignments for a long time. The hot rod part started out Mopars only but then more customers came wanted cool stuff done, my favorite is building the engines and rebuilding axles older oddball ones the better.

A friend that lives in New Jersey started this website recently for me and he adds to it all the time

    www.troxellsgarage .com

    I like beer too

Here is an older thread on the same subject. Most of the people on here that you see with multiple/ many/ (too many) machines, are the DIY type who can have several machines for what a single machine would cost if you were to pay someone to upkeep it. A lot of us are mechanics for a living in one formor another, but there are also doctors on here who like to get their hands dirty (or broken) as a means to relax http://www.6x6world.com/forums/chit-...o-day-day.html

Reading over the thread I linked, a lot has changed. I am the shop foreman for a NASCAR team and run all day to day operations. After the economic tank in 2010 I refinanced the house and bought a bunch of tools with the equity. There is not much I can't build from my shop at home now, but I still tend to do a lot of it on work equipment on my lunch hours

    Line of work?

Just curious what kind of work 6x6 folks do...I ask b/c I learned quick how costly these machines seem to be. Also noticed a lot of members have nice shop setups and more than one machine...just a thought if you don't mind sharing. I work in the operations center for the state highway in Mass...
