...and the United Refining (Kwik-Fill/Red Apple) story in the Erie-Times: Comments spark call for Citgo boycott | GoErie.com/Erie Times-News
The article is a bit vague: "Gas sold at United Refining's 373 Country Fair and Kwik Fill stations comes from the Warren refinery, which has been using mainly Canadian crude oil."

So, sure. It's American "refined", but it's (or was at least at one point) "foreign oil".

Two of my brothers owned a c-store many years ago, and their supplier was a bulk plant which in effect "speculated " on oil themselves. They bought gas from the cheapest source and sold it as Shell gas. The sign at my brothers' store was Shell but the gas they sold wasn't always. They were at the mercy of the bulk plant, who had put in the pumps, and dictated what gas was put in the tanks. So just because you think you are buying a certain brand you may not be...

Look into "running your car with water"
DESTRUCTION is just a couple of vowels down the street from DISTRACTION

I heard someone came up with a way to run automobiles on water safley many moons ago and the government bought the ideas and kept them under wraps so the public couldn't get ahold of them. lol

This is so true, when we start driving less it makes a surplus, so they just sell it to china who will pay any price so the consume looses again, the reasoning...it is a global market.

When i was stationed in Japan the price of a liter of gas was 77 cent. "Per liter". This was in 1975-76. We hear so much from "All these experts" we do not know what to believe. When we zig...they zag keeping us off balance and not in the know.

In 1973 i was a insulator and was at a job in Wilmington, N.C., this was during the first time we "Ran out of gas"Note: (October 1973) There were numerous ships that i could see and i asked what are all those ships lined up for way out there? The answer was "They are waiting for the prices to go up so they can off load."

I knew this was a pack of whooe when it occurred and it is still that. The speculators have done more damage to us than the OPEC organization as far as pricing. Where this ends.....no one knows. But, the world will still turn, the sun will rise and set even if there is not another drop produced.

What can we do....don't have all the answers but i don't drive no more than i have to. I save money for trips because i know it will be expensive. I am looking at the Ford Focus electric car as a daily driver, not saying i can afford one yet but i am looking into it.

The thing that upsets me is that the economy will never grow with the fuel jumping up and down. We need a alternate to "Gas" we must break the legs of the fuel companies before things will settle once again.

We sent a man to the moon in 1969...yet we can not get better than 30 MPG What is up with that.

Last tid bit of info i observed through my years.....gentlemen if you are waiting for the government to save you...you are in trouble, the politicians do not have your best interest in their minds.

I served in the Marines and i am a staunch "Buy American" as you can get.... and this is one fact i have been standing on since 1983. I love my country. I have earned the right to dis-agree for this is one of my freedoms. JFK said in a speech which i watched as a young man, "Ask not what my Country can do for me, but what I can do for my Country". This has been lost.

I hate this because i too become angered at this stupidity and it is the young ones...our children, the young families just starting out, who are suffering with : No jobs, High fuel prices, High Medical bills, etc.

Where is the future for our children in this global market

These are my opinions on this matter. Sorry for standing on the soapbox for so long.

            Lewis
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"
