My dad got bit by the r airpalne bug back when I was in high school and kept flying until a few years ago, he's now blind in 1 eye and in poor health. I tried to get interested in the flying, but just not my thing. I did try RC cars and that I liked. I had a RC-10 Truck, Tamayi Leo2 tank, and a 4wd rally car. I got an idea to convert the RC-10T to gas and swapped in one of my dads gas fox40 RC airplane engine in it.. fun times it was. I cleaned out my basement a few years ago and I just gave all my stuff away to a guy at work. I think he and his kids enjoyed them.

I had a stamped and a sport. Then I bought a T-maxx when they where first out. I geared it lower then they said it would. I just made it work. I then put some huge tires off something else on it. I cant remember what they where off of but the wheels and tires where like $120 bucks. I had a stinger pipe and a few other mods. It was cool with the 2 speed auto shift transmission. It sounded like an little Indy car, lol. I remember running into my little brother once and knocking him over. I had like $700 into it and traded it for some stupid step bars for my GMC Jimmy. I later realized how stupid that was.

Hey Keith, have you ever been to the dragstrip? With an engine like that, all aluminum, I bet a three stage NOS setup will have any car going so fast, it'll be ice cold like the Mclaren in "Back to the Future". Great build!!!!!

The Tmaxx is still pretty cool. When they hit second gear they go into like warp speed! They can cause a lot of damage if they hit someone for sure. Doesn't take long to get a bunch of money tied up in any build does it.

The shop used to have a Alcohol Funny Car we ran in the late 80s. If you look in the Max gallery I think you can see the 64 Comet I am building for SS drag racing behind my Max IV. These 6x6 projects just seem to keep me from doing much on it lately.

Ah, R/C. I had a shop for a while, and if my dumb butt hadn't been in a partnership I still would. I've got a bunch. My favorites are the Tamiya Bruiser and Mountaineers (two Mountys) Revo (Modded for racing) USA-1 Nitro (Old school cool) and Clod busters, (Original, Super, and a stick chassis'd crawler). But for cool factor I give the nod to my Art Attack Nitro Snowmobile. I've got all the factory options, it's sitting on a block cause I put Associated's F/T Touring shocks on it then scavenged them for racing, never re-installed. It's pretty quick and a ton of fun in snow or grass.

Hey 6x6, i almost bought a sled thsi winter to play with but i didnt. i jsut put my trans back together on the losi-xxxnt, but my throttle linkage was in a bind when i fired it up, and it started wide open, i grabbed it, and held the wheels while i tried to grab a screwdriver to fix my issue..well.....the clutch was enaged and the motor overpowered the trans and ripped off all the teethe on the slipper gear. LOL....DAMN!! so.....now i need one of those, but its on its way. just when i thought i could get to play with my race-truck, an un-noticed problem stopped me. hahahaha. oh well, thats life.

my next purchase MIGHT be one of those 1/5 scale buggies that are 2stroke weed-wacker powered. but untill then illl keep running my tripleX and the stampede! hahaha.
I have officially caught the 6-wheel-sickness!!

Wagz I am also looking at one of those 1/5 scale hpi 5t trucks. I would think they would be a lot more forgiving engine tuning wise than the little nitro engines and they don't have the stupid glow pluggs that always seem to not work. Might pick up a used one because new price is a little steeeep!!

just ebay the 1/5 scale trucks, they make a 2wd baja style truck by ravino or something closet to it. (Not redcat) they seem to be decent trucks, and they take and use all the same HPI parts. the HPI's are outrageous priced! and yes i agree with you on the gas vs. nitro, an ignition system would be nice. i dont have glow plug issues now that i got them dialed in an running properly, but break in process is a pain sometimes.

Careful with the knock-offs. Buddy has a shop and won't take them in at all to repair. Cause when they fix something, too often they found MORE failing/broke parts than the owners wanted to pay for. When I was in it the 5B and 5T were pricey, but for what you got, not that bad.
