Yes, these fellows have been way to quiet. We refer to that as.... under the radar!
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"
Whoa Bridget that eye is truly disturbing.
I finally had some time off from work this week. Worked on both Frankenscrambler and the springer today. The FS is getting a center backbone to support the engine trans module and hang the inboard bearings. Figuring out the frame took most of the day. Ill post some pics tomorrow.
Most of the springer bearings are shot as well as the inboard axles. Unfortunately there are 24 bearings. The axle material appears to be mild steel and there is some slight bending where the u-joint is attached causing the u-joints to wobble. The springer project is growing exponentially. On the plus side the engine is ready to fire and trans is ready to go in.

Bridget actually it was rather clever in a Halloween sort of way.
These projects Like Godzilla take time. In my case my toy budget got depleted due to our well pump dying. So I had to rethink how I was going to build it. The current design will use allot of my salvaged Scrambler parts. The old jackshaft in the photo is just for reference and will not be used. I will upgrade the chains to 50 pitch. I hope to have it ready for the summer though.[IMG][/IMG]
Backbone frame rails located for original Scrambler axles and bearings.

Plenty of room to service engine and trans and chains.

Disc brake to be operated from existing foot brake. Torque arm (aluminium plate)to be attached to jack shaft frame.
Well It's good your keeping a eye on us Bridget. Sick humor
Mark, is this the Frankenscrambler for the daughter? I am sure it will be a great success when completed. We knew you were up to something!!!!
