Cool, another Chief/Thunderchief style racer! That 400 revs up pretty quick. What kind/size of carb are you running on there, Joe?

Joe that motor almost starts itself. Looks like you have it dialed in Pal. Will enjoy seeing you again. So much to do and so little time.

  Looking good!

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

I didn't think you had the smaller stock Mikuni on there....that 400 sounds great! I always loved the sound of those 400s, its almost like a big lopey cam sound in an old muscle car when they idle.Originally posted by Joe M View PostJP, it's an older 32mm Mikuni. How many machines are you bringing?
I want to bring my Max II on tracks, my '74 Wild Wolf (the super low hour, all original survivor one) to show, and my Thunderchief racer, but unfortunately trailer space is limited so I might only be able to bring 2 machines
Who knows, maybe I'll be able to borrow a trailer or find a deal on one that can hold 3 or 4 machines, but there isn't that much time left. What machines are you planning on bringing?

Just bringing the racer. I'd like too bring the Surtrek, but not enough room for both. The Surtrek is 10ft and my trailer is only 14ft.Originally posted by jpswift1 View PostI didn't think you had the smaller stock Mikuni on there....that 400 sounds great! It's running pretty good now, just hope it holds up. No where around here to give it a good test. Yeah, it's getting down to the wire.Originally posted by lewis View PostJoe that motor almost starts itself. Looks like you have it dialed in Pal. Will enjoy seeing you again. Joe, you could probably fit 3 smaller machines sideways on a 14ft trailer. But yea, that Sur Trek is a beast. This might be pushing it, but I wonder if you could first put the Attex on sideways toward the front of the trailer and then drive the Sur Trek up. I fit two Attexes on my 5x8 trailer side by side a couple times. I had to take all of the wheels and tires off, but it worked.Originally posted by Joe M View PostJust bringing the racer. Just a little less than 3 more weeks to go.......I'm pumped!!!"Looks like you have a problem with your 4 wheeler........you're missin' two wheels there"

I'm putting all my free time into getting the Chief ready. I was in the garage from 8:00am till 7:00pm today. Plan on spending half the day tomorrow, working on it.

I know just what you mean, Joe. I put a 12 hour day into doing nothing but working on my racer. Fun stuff, and its going to all be worth every minute when we're ripping down the track!Originally posted by Joe M View PostI'll have to see if they'll both fit.

While he drifts right or left, I should be able to drift right past him.
When I give it a shove it rolls 22 1/2" feet before it stops.
This could maybe increase top end by 5-10 mph.

  Good one Roger!!!
