  • 60 may be the new 20 the way whipper navigates.

It was a toss-up for me going against the geezers or the geezer/youngster mix. Either way you have to figure they're all trying to beat you up. It was a blast hashing it out with the Blackbird.

Does anybody have video of the 2-stroke stock race?
Stuck in the seventies- not in the swamp.

    (6) Attex, a Hustler, a Super Swamp Fox, (2) Tricarts, (3) Tri-sports, a Sno-co trike, 3 Dunecycles, and a Starcraft! ...so far

I have more hair than most 20 yr olds. In a couple weeks I might get my own Rascal . Of course the electric motor will have to go. And replaced with a small block Briggs.

If hair on my ears and back can count, yea i have more hair than a 20 year old. My head got to hot and the stuff melted and ran.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

              • Thanks George!

Wow. I certainly had enough adrenaline at the end of that race. I'm kinda glad you didn't catch my roll-over and subsequent arm flailing when I couldn't get a pull start. That put me down nearly a lap, and I ended up burning up a piston trying to catch up. I didn't catch up.

Great race, though. I like having a lot more machines on the track than just 5 or 6. It's a LOT more exciting when you're rubbing tires and bumping other people, even if you don't finish first. Let's get a lot more racers out there!

                • George,
That was GREAT!!! I especially like the the footage of everyone talking at the end. Mike got so animated. I love the enthusiasm everyone had. Next big meet up everyone needs to bring their flip footage to put on 1 computer and edit into a DVD.
l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!

                    • The hand is great! Back to normal... it was hard trying to fix GeoJem's racer and the 503 in preparation for the final races. Tom A was helping me, and his right hand is toast. So between the two of us, we had one right hand and one left hand. There was a lot of "now you hold this", and lame-looking high-fives, but we got them both back in action!

                        • Seeing that race again brought the biggest smile to my face!

                          • Thanks, George!

Great footage, George; I'm glad you left the comments on the end of the video- shows how excited most of us were when it was over. Can't wait to do it again!

Great final line, Hmike: "Anybody got any JLO pistons?"

                            • Great, Great video George!!! Moments like that made it worth all the driving to get there. Everyone was excited after the race. Bravo!!

                              • Here's the Apache Gear Invitational. This was the last event of the weekend. It was open to anyone with a roll cage and harness. It was supposed to be just for laughs but after the flag dropped, most of us switched into "Battle Mode." There were over 30 cars in the event. Originally scheduled to be 2 laps, at the last moment Bud Fischer decided it should be 3. I think I was well into the 2nd lap before the herd started to thin enough for me to open her up.

Note the condition of my goggles at the beginning and end of the video.
