  • 6x6 Racing Results 2011

6x6 racing was back in Ashtabula, Ohio at Pine Lake Raceway for the 42nd anniversary of America's Oldest ATV race. This thread will contain all of the race results, pictures, videos, etc. The races this year were held on Sunday, June 26, 2011. I'll try to update this first post with the videos and pictures that everyone posts so we don't have to sort through so many pages.
A huge thank you as always to Bud Fischer of Fischer Cycles for keeping this event going for us.

Let me start by saying that the #0 Attex was not designed to be a race machine, but thanks to everyone that helped to make sure ot got around the track every race with no major issues after the colt concoction project came to a stand still due to multiple parts issues. Thanks to all that attempted to get that project finished on time as well. And despite what any results may claim, i have a first place plack hanging on my wall.
l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!

Home at 1:15 AM- tired and sore. Can't wait to do it again. Great thanks to all involved and all who made the trip!
Stuck in the seventies- not in the swamp.

        (6) Attex, a Hustler, a Super Swamp Fox, (2) Tricarts, (3) Tri-sports, a Sno-co trike, 3 Dunecycles, and a Starcraft! ...so far

What a fantastic time.......Can't wait to do it again. Thanks to EVERYONE for the good company, and the help in repairs For the unlucky people who didn't attend, there was NO shortage of mud. IMG_0478.jpg

Unfortunatly, I missed the picture with MattO throwwing the mud about 10 ft in the air.
I need to be a little faster.

And here's a couple outside of the mud holes.IMG_0499.jpgIMG_0498.jpg

We really missed you guys that didn't show.......hope to see you next year.

Home again, a little tired but we are in at 06:25 Monday morning. Want to thank ALL that attended and made this once again a wonderful weekend.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

Glad to hear our out of town friends are beginning to arrive home safley. A thousand thank you's (I think) to Hydromike and Joe H for putting the TUNE on Gizmo's throttle plate/governor set-up,now I will never be able to wrestle it back from Lyndsey. Am I gonna have to build another one for myself?. So many thanks to Bud Fischer and all the staff.

              Joe.

GeoJem and I had a nice, easy ride home last night. We rolled in around 10:00 after a nice cruise down I-90. What an amazing time again this year. We only suffered one real casualty on the track this year, which was another broken bearing flange on the left rear on GeoJem's machine. We'll fix that once and for-all this time. The 503 performed pretty well in the first race, but developed (what I think is) a fuel starvation problem in one of the carbs on the last lap of the Rookie race. TechFX was on my butt with his big nasty RIM racer the entire race, and passed me within the last 50ft or so to take the flag. Like Don said to me "If you're going to be passed by any person in any machine, that's not a bad ending..." It was great to see everyone again and engage in the real roots of this hobby. I'm already mentally scheming for improvements for next year, and what parts I already have to bolt together for another race machine.

JoeMeg, you're welcome! I think you can get more RPMs out of that Kohler, still. They're hiding in that governor setting. And yes; you'll need to build another one for you! Lyndsey should keep Gizmo for herself!

The turnout wasn't bad this year, but I'm a little concerned that we're not getting a ton new people coming out. I hope we can try to stimulate a lot more interest in the high-performance sector of this hobby so it doesn't fade away again...

Thanks to everyone for making us feel welcome at our first 6x6 get together. My son had an absolute BLAST cruising around in the Kadoo (even if it only had 5 wheels and 1 bent axle by the end of the weekend) thanks hydromike for the field axle straightening lesson. we are already making plans for next year. maybe our own racer, who knows.

                      What a great weekend

As always it was wonderful to see everybody again, and a great big thanks to Mike and Don for all of the help and letting me borrow parts to get the 195 on the track even though I blew two tires and didn't finish, it was worth it just be on Dons butt going into the first turn! You are welcome Joe, like Mike said there are still a few more r's in that Kohler.
