  • Quad motor in a max ll

Hi I'm kinda new to the 6x6 stuff I was wondering if it would work if I put a 2007 Polaris sportsman 450 motor in my max ll .... Any advice would be helpful thank you

I think a quad motor would work great, BUT......
You would have to machine a few custom parts to get a compatible primary clutch to bolt to it. OR if it comes with a primary, use the secondary off the quad AND change the tuning and gear ratio on the machine. Just remember that the quad motor will not have the same torque as a briggs, kohler, etc. I would think it would be more like a 2 stroke, with a higher rpm limit, so just gear it down a little.

My max right now has a 20hp Briggs but for some reason it's seems like its not enough power

Do you think your clutches are engaging properly? When I had an 18HP in my max II, it had enough power to spin the tires before it ran out of power when climbing a steep hill. When are you experiencing the lack of power?

It seems like my motor is not getting into the higher rpms ... Yesterday it seemed like it didn't want to move

What does it do in neutral? Watch the clutches cycle when it is in neutral, and see if it cycles properly. If it is out of adjustment, or you have a clutch issue, it can put the machine in a much higher gear ratio, and you will lose a bunch of power.
If the motor starts well and runs smooth, it is doubtful that the motor is your problem. Read this: ATV and Snowmobile Belts - by Dayco
