this is a addon from all the other posts about the wiring in my magnum. i traced a yelow wire that comes from the fuse block, goes to solonoid then from the solonoid to black wire with green fuse on it. then it is connected to another yellow short wire that then goes to a black plastic conector and to regulator. would that have an effect on my charging or?

There was a plastic connector that was melted. And the there is two wire going under the engine in the front? Do I have to take part my flywheel ?

Curtis, do you have a multi meter and have you done any tests? If so what were your results?

I have done some tests with engine not running. Done some on the 3 wire connector that goes to the regulator got like 0.64 ohms I think. But didn't do anymore because tried it on the battery and then came to realize I didn't have the ground and negative connected on the battery so results were always wrong but got ohms on the regulator. Is that good ?

Plain and simple, with meter on dc-, connect black to ground and hold red to center terminal only on regulator. with engine running at full throttle ,If it reads more than 13 volts you are good.

When you say black to ground do you mean just put it on metal to ground it?

And also my only problem is, there was a connection that burnt out I posted up there somewhere in the beginning. And that connection goes to the regulator would that effect the results ? Does everything have to be connected properly?

Yes if you have not repaired that wire don't come back til you do.

Ok now how can I repair it? Just join all the wires and cut those metal ends off?

DO NOT JOIN ANY WIRES! Replace what is burnt, if you cannot repair what is burnt with the engine in the current configuration you will get your wish and need to get to the stator.

This will keep you busy awhile, needing to remove the air cleaner assy., the fresh air intake duct, the engine shroud, and if you can not repair the wire from there, the flywheel. If you have to go that far you can do the stator as you are already there.

Would suck to have to do all that for nothing, but you'll learn that way.

ok so find another connector and then what? connect any wires that are melted or whatever. repair any wires with damage and then do the tests what you said back earlier? so when i get all the shrouding and stuff off what i need to get off to get to the stator. what else can i do since i have all that stuff off. cleaning, repairs?

i think its time to box it all up load on your trailer and ...................
