No spark issue after motor swap. Hustler 950

I am stumped. I swapped out the 14hp vanguard for the 18hp vanguard that I had. Took the heads off of the 14 and installed them to the 18. Also took the regulator from the 14 and added it to the 18. The starter solenoid is under to the seat so I took the solenoid off of the 18. Everything that I unplugged form the 14 has been added to the 18.

Engine turns over but there is no spark

The ignition from the 18 was a 6 pole and the hustler is a 5 pole but not sure if that would make a difference since everything electrical wise I swapped from the 14 to the 18.... I'm stumped. I'm sure its something simple stupid that I'm missing...

Try and remove the wire from the kill stud and see if it runs.

Thanks for the picture. My solenoid is under the seat and is different than the one that was on the starter. I'll post some pictures of what I got going here in a bit. I'm thinking I should convert back to the 6 pole and extend the wires. I just don't understand why the 18 isn't sparking but the 14 had no issue. Everything electrical I swapped from the 14 to the 18.

the location of your solenoid has nothing to do with it having or not having spark, did you find the coil grounding post on the 18. if so,, pull whatever wire that is on it off and see if you have spark'

Removed the wire from kill stud, still no spark. The only wires going back to the motor are to the black kill stud wire, the red wire going to the regulator, the power wire for the starter and ground.

Are you sure the wire connecting the two coils are on, did You have the coils off?

I never took the coils off. I just checked agin to make sure they both have good connection.

I would pull the coil wire off the back of the post in the fan shroud and try it, maybe the post is grounding in the cover

Also check that both diodes are not burnt. Check the clearance of the coils to the flywheel and a quick scuff never hurts.

Silly question, does it have a fuel solenoid and could that be the problem and not spark at all? Gotta ask.

So I wired in the 6 pole ignition that came on the 18, still no spark. Checked clearance with the coils and it looks good. On pole two of the 6 pole it lists as the carb solenoid and it is present. I have tried it both closed and open with no success. I've tried both plunging and unplugging the wires from the kill stud/coils.

I'm just completely lost in the sauce. Is there something I could have done while swapping heads? I checked the plugs to make sure the Pistons weren't hitting them.

No, its not the heads etc, start with the engine and don't put the wiring in the mix yet. if you pulled the coil kill wire from the blower housing and theres still no spark then pull the coil kill wire from the 14 and try it.
your thinkin too hard, its a easy system, justs something simple, ya just need to relax and do one thing at a time.
